No more battery saver?

Has the battery saver options been taken out of the game with the new update?

Yes, as of yesterday's update they have removed that option, I'm afraid. ):

I never found it too particularly useful anyway. You can turn your brightness down to save a little battery while you're not actively playing. I find that helps my battery go a little longer.

It blacked out the screen which saved tons of battery whilst hatching eggs, especially 10k ones

I had stopped using it a while ago because every time I used it the app would crash so was effort than it was worth, just stock up on battery packs and have a plan to keep them charged up and there is no need for battery saver

Well, it never really blacked out the screen entirely. If you looked at it closely, you could still see a dim GO logo, and all the processes were still fully running in the background. Essentially, all it really did was dim your screen... which, to me, never saved much more battery than I could have on my own.

Who knows though, different phones, different preferences and all that.

I'm on Android as well, and the option is still there.
Might just be removed for iphones.

Yes, they took it of. And it's good. Because when I was using battery saver and when black screen turn to black and you find a pokemon. Sometimes trying to catch it screen just freezing because of saver. And you miss a pokemon.
Hope you can understand what I wanted to say.

Yep, still here on Android 6.0.1, although I stopped using it after the first few times. It kept putting my phone into battery saver mode when I was trying to look for pokemon. Annoying...
