    Hello, Arkadious here.

Frankly put, I don't really know what's going on with Pokemon Essentials at the moment. It's not giving me an error message, so I can't exactly put it in here.

I was working on a custom game in my spare time and noticed that BGM files weren't playing. The only thing that did seem to play were SE sounds such as bumping into walls, walking down stairs etc. I tried using a fresh version of Essentials and there was the exact same problem. Then I converted the .mid files into .ogg files so see if that would work and they started to play, but were pitched weirdly and so didn't sound right.

Anyone got any idea what might be going on? I'm thinking it might be a RPG Maker or Windows thing. Any help would be appreciated.

You may check If you have defined any BGM's to play on the map settings.
Or have you deleted all the audio's on the BGM folder?

There is music defined on the map settings, and no I have not deleted the BGM files. I now notice that this problem extends to anything with a .mid file type, not just limited to the BGM sound folder.

I've tried converting to .mp3 and .wav and they also seem to play fine. So maybe the music wasn't out of pitch after all and they've just changed the music files.

However, I still find it odd that Essentials now outright refuses to play .mid files now. Thanks for the suggestion though.
