but how does Burmy/Wormadam work? Does it get a new cloak after fainting or leveling up or what other event or does it stay the way it is?

Go over to the desert with it in your party, battle in the desert cave, and uh level it up now=
Oh wow, look it looks like a uh, bee hive.
There's more detail if you Google it btw..
And I'm not even sure if Diamond and Pearl actually have a desert..
