Hi Everyone im new here and i dont own either Diamond or Pearl yet but am planning to!.

Can someone please give me the low down of the game!. Ive played all the other Pokemon but im quite confused of the Wi-Fi stuff and all the Uber pokemon and stuff like that.

And one thing can i ask do alot of people play on Wi-Fi?

The WiFi is designed for trading and battling. Its similar to the older wireless or wired trading and battling but uses the internet. It is secured such that you must have the friend code of the person you want to trade/battle with AND they have to have yours before you can see each other in WiFi.

Other than that, Diamond and Pearl are similar to previous games. I think you will enjoy it.

Guys sorry but i have another question!.

Diamond and Pearl are set in the region of Sinnoh, which is based upon the Hokkaidō prefecture of Japan. Sinnoh is characterized by both mountainous and snow-covered areas, and contains new Pokémon central to the plot.

The game contains 107 new Pokémon and chronicles the adventures of a new Pokémon trainer who strives to become the Pokémon League Champion, collecting and training various species of Pokémon along the way.[8] As do most games in the series, Diamond and Pearl feature eight Pokémon gyms led by Gym Leaders, professional trainers whose expertise lies in a particular Pokémon type. Gym Leaders serve as bosses and reward skilled trainers with badges of merit, key to the advancement of the plot.

The playable characters of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.Diamond and Pearl begin in Twinleaf Town. After viewing a television report about a media-conducted search for a Red Gyarados spotted at a distant lake, the protagonist and his/her rival travel together to check the local lake for a Pokémon like it. They spot Professor Rowan, an expert in Pokémon evolution, and the protagonist's second rival, who is the playable character not selected: Dawn (girl) or Lucas (boy). After a short discussion the pair exits from the lake, leaving a briefcase behind. When they are attacked by wild Starly, the protagonist and his or her rival examine the case. The player is then given a choice between three Pokémon found in the briefcase, Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup. After defeating the Starly, they return the briefcase to the professor. Noticing that a bond has been forged between the young protagonist and his/her chosen Pokémon, Rowan offers it to him/her, asking that he embark on a journey and fill his/her Pokédex.

As the plot continues, the protagonist encounters the main antagonist, Team Galactic, although their motives are unclear. (However, as the player progresses through the game, it is made gradually more obvious that the leader, Cyrus, desires to end all life on the world so that he alone can form a more perfect, conflict-less place.) Team Galactic captures Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit, of Sinnoh's three lakes, and imprisons them, making it the player's responsibility to free them. Upon releasing the trio, he/she is able to travel to the sacred shrine atop Mt. Coronet and enter the cave, where the leader of Team Galactic awakens either Dialga, in Diamond, or Palkia in Pearl. Dialga or Palkia's powers begin to overwhelm Sinnoh, causing the newly free Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit to attempt to stop it. It is then that the player is able to engage in a battle with (and has a chance to capture) the version-appropriate legendary Pokémon.

Having completed this, and after meeting requirements set by the Elite Four, the player is able to contend with them, fighting its members and then the Pokémon League Champion, Cynthia.

Yes, you can connect with either version together.:)

Ok thanks everyone for helping me out!. Hopefully ill see you on Wi-Fi Sometime soon ;)

Sweet merciful heavens, you ruined the whole plot! You didn't have to give it out in such detail. Then again, its pokemon. There is no suprizes.

There was no need to spoil the story. She said she played other pokemon games, so you didn't have to dumb it down. She should know what gym leaders are now, so there is no point explaining it. And things like that. You also ruined the story, even though you don't play pokemon for tne storyline.

If you played any other 2D Pokemon game, THIS shouldn't be new to you.

I can sum up this [somewhat] legnthy story that I quoted:

    1)Catch Pokes-Level 'em up

2)Get Badges by beating Gym leaders. How many? What do you think?

3)Beat the evil organization (Team "Galaxy")

4)Fight the box Legendary (Palkia, Dailga)

    5)Beat Elite Four

If you played any pokemon game, & have played more than one, you should know what to expect by now. Catch 'em, beat leaders, beat Galaxy, beat legend, beat league.

    oh yea, totally true...

and as a heads up, if you played Emerald, you'll notice some things are a bit more tedious this time around... such as getting the National Dex.

either way, though, you'll definitely have fun.

    Just Another Thing

I know I might reveal something big here, but you have to know since you cant get it untill the end of the game.

You can trade back with the GBA games, but whatever you transfer on your Diamond or Pearl game cannot be transfered back. And you only "transfer" the Pokemon onto Diamond, so no Pokemon get sent on the GBA games.

Just a heads up for ya

GamerFreak, if you use material from other sources, make sure you give credit. This was taken from Wikipedia, so you should reference that somewhere, unless you did write that article in Wikipedia...
