there are several forums I go to that show a message notification saying something like, "while you were typing a reply has been posted. you might want to check the reply before submitting your post" when someone replies to a forum before you were able to finish typing.... there has been several cases where I had to edit my response on this forum because someone had replied during my typing... so I think this would be helpful...

Idk but it sounds pretty ok to me, cause I've had that happen sometimes and it can be annoying to have to edit your post or even delete it sometimes, because someone completely ninja'd you on it lol. But it's not something that's like, really necessary imo. It's not like it happens to me that often and when it happens, I'll just take the effort to edit the post.

it seems you NEVER take anybody's suggestion.... why have a suggestion option then? I have NEVER seen one suggestion accepted than anybody posts

While I've been here many ideas suggested in this thread have happened in the forum.

Anyway I think this would be unnecessary, editing posts doesn't take much effort and you get to say ninja'd. It doesn't happen much anyway to be that much of an issue.

usually most higher trafficed forums don't use these types of things as it adds to the sql queries (server) and javascript load a user (your comp) has to process..

we staff ALWAYS look at and consider all suggestions.. contrary to what may get posted here.

If it is really a concern couldn't you just refresh the page right before you make the post? Especially if it's a long post. A notification would be nice, but it's just a rather small thing that only occurs from time to time. So what if you get ninja'ed it happens.
