Suggestion: Notification on Subscribed thread/blog updates

So just subscribed to a thread so I could at least find it easier in the future when I peek in every now and then and thought, It gives me the option for Email notifications when its updated with other posts, why can't we have site notifications too?

So that we don't miss out on any potential discussion on threads that move a bit slower but still update from time to time, would it be possible to enable us to receive site notifications like when we receive PMs, VMs, when people quote us...etc? It be nice if we could for general threads and possibly blogs.

I want this too. I'd use subscriptions if I was notified on the site. Frankly I don't care enough to have my inbox flooded when someone replies to a thread, but I do care enough to want to know when I log on that a thread's had some replies.

Subscribe PC notification

Instead of having to check our emails to follow the threads we've subscribed to, wouldn't it be better if we received notifications directly from PC instead? Then users can also have the 'Once a month', 'Daily', 'Instant', etc. options.
