Now i have noticed that i also have a lvl 50 Metagross: another useful substitute, but he has no fourth move. heres how it stands as such:

    Psychic
    Confusion
    Metal Claw
    Pursuit

    and my plan is:
    Psychic
Meteor Mash (raise it to lvl 55)
    Shadow Ball (tm 30)
    -----------------------

i have exhauted all TMs found throughout the game, so the TMs in Celdaon Dept Store and Game Corner are the only options, and money is no objective.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Well, if that's the case, I'll take agility as the last move. Metagross learns it naturally, so you only need to allow it to relearn it again with the tutor's help. Psychic is keepable, but brick break is also a possibility.

agility is not really needed when metagross has it's nature as timid(+speed -attack) maybe u can try rock slide from a frlg move tutor

Actually, Agility is almost necessary for sweeping with Metagross, since even with a + Speed nature, it's speed only gets as high as around 200, where as with Agility it can hit 458 speed with one use of Agility (assuming max speed EV). After that it's a case of just sweeping away, since you're even faster than Jolly Ninjask at this point (at least until he gets once use of Speed Boost in). With an Attack stat higher than Machamp (135 base for Metagross, 130 base for Machamp), Metagross HURTS when he's always going first and you can't survive to respond.

as the post stated already, the only usable TMs are renewable ones. Obviously, earthquake is THE choice over brick break in this case, but well it's not available.

ok 1 quick question then: you are playing in ruby/saph? or LG/FR? if you have access to the other games (other 3 that is) you can trade over and use one of the TM's that you may have leftover there.

just pointing out the bleeding obvious just incase its been missed (i always forget about other games when im doing TMing :( )

    Jaws...

yeah, i got all four, finished them, used all the good TMs on my team, so earthquake, overheat, stuff like that: all gone

BUGGER ok i just thought i would bring it up just incase.

Jolly Ninjask is 460 speed maxed out, so Metagross, is still a little slower! :D

Why would you use a Jolly nature when you can already outspeed everything -- without the opponent using speed-boosting attacks/items? Personally, I like a +PhAt -SpAt nature, since you'll likely be able to get at least one turn of Speed Boost, anyway.

Metagross can get 478 Speed after using Agility -- 252 Speed EVs gives it 239 Speed. This still lets you get 400+ Attack power with a +PhAt nature. Thus, Jolly Ninjask won't help you, anyway.

    478 (Agilitied Metagross) > 460 (Jolly Ninjask)

Therefore, Metagross would be faster in this case. It's another story if Ninjask gets a Speed Boost.

So, if I can understand it, this thread is leading to don't use Agility because that would make Metagross slower than only one Pokemon, Ninjask??? Why don't we get back on topic?

Anyways, I think that Metagross should have Agility, Earthquake, Brick Break, and Shadow Ball, and for if and when the three attacking move I have mention is not available, Psychic and/or Light Screen should be a substitute for them.
