Hokay, so I'm pretty new to battling, so this team will most likely have it's flaws. So far, it's won four out of five battles, but one was because of a missclick on my opponent's part, so it doesn't really count. I did post a rmt here like a year ago, but I never actually got around to downloading shoddy, so this is still sorta my first team. My liking of constructive critisism should not need to be mentioned.

    Purugly @ leftovers
    Jolly
    Thick fat
    6 HP/ 252 ATK/ 252 SPE

    ~Fake Out
    ~Return
    ~U-Turn
    ~Taunt

Purugly is my lead, and I'd prefer it if he could stay. I opted for protect and knock over taunt and hypnosis because I usually never have to use taunt with this guy, and protect is fun to scout with and it gets some lefties in. Also, the opponent usually wont get any leftovers while I protect because of knock off. I'm not sure if I should put the defense evs back into attack, but I like the additional survivability.

    Jumpluff @ leftovers
    Jolly
    Chlorophyll
    252 HP/ 252 SPE

    ~Sleep Powder
    ~Substitute
    ~Leech Seed
    ~U-Turn

Good ol' jumpluff. She's helped me out in a lot of battles, and can stop some of the opponents pokemon in their tracks if I'm lucky enough. I have yet to get any prediction skillz, so for now bounce has been working out a lot better for me than encore. However, if it would be better for the team I could make the switch. Bounce provides paralysis and extra recovery from lefties and leech seed. The set doesn't need too much explanation, it's just the average subseed.

    Qwilfish @ leftovers (again lol)
    Impish
    Swift Swim
    252 HP/ 252 DEF

    ~Spikes
    ~Waterfall
    ~Destiny Bond
    ~Poison Jab

My qwilfish is a bit of a freak, but I like the extra physical defense. It's let me set up spikes a lot easier, and gives me time to see how much damage their attacks are doing so I can destiny bond. I could go without thunderwave, as it hasn't helped me that much at all, but I don't know what to replace it with. Qwilfish is actually a great help to my team, since it lures earthquakes and thunderbolts, both of which give me free switches. Also, destiny bond has gotten me lot's of free kills after he's done his job. I'd like it if this guy could stay, since there aren't many other spikers in NU.

    Drifblim @ Chesto Berry
    Modest
    Unburden
    144 DEF/ 252 SPA/ 60 SPD/ 52 SPE

    ~Calm Mind
    ~HP Fighting
    ~Shadow Ball
    ~Substitute

Floony is the poke I'm most willing to let go of. She usually doesn't do much in my battles, and is often the first to die. I tried having a modest set with more special attack and shadow ball, but I never really got many attacks in anyway. Now I've switched to a more defensive set with thunderbolt, but have yet to test it out. I'm looking for a bulky special based pokemon to replace her, but anything you suggest could work.

    Marowak @ Thick Club
    Adamant
    Rock Head
    6 HP/ 252 ATK/ 252 SPE

    ~Earthquake
    ~Stone Edge
    ~Double Edge
    ~Fire Punch

I have no idea why this guy is NU! Marowak is a beast once I get enough of the opponent's pokemon paralyzed, which isn't too hard with this team. He wreaks havoc on his foes, and has saved me in most of the few battles I've had with him. I'd like it if he isn't removed, but, once again, I will consider suggestions.

    Linoone @ Salac Berry
    Adamant
    Gluttony
    116 HP/ 252 ATK/ 136 SPE

    ~Belly Drum
    ~Extreme Speed
    ~Seed Bomb
    ~Shadow Claw

This little woozle is my main cleen-up poke in late game. I can get him in easy after a sleep powder from my jumpluff, and having so many pokes paralyzed helps too. There isn't much to explain about him, 'cept for the fact that he has won three out of my four wins. He goes well with the pokemon I have, in my opinion, since most of them have a way of letting this guy get in and set up without a problem.

So, um, yeah. That's my first team that I've used ever. Right now I'm looking for a pokemon that can take special hits better in place of drifblim. I'm considering hypno, but would like a second opinion. So... rate away =D

Cool, an NU team. First thing I have to ask is will you be playing this only against other NU teams or will you play against all sort of teams with it. Also, I assume it is for singles??

Anyway, I'd like to address an accessment you made in your team. I agree that maybe you should let Drifblim go. I think you really need a third dedicated sweeper, and since you are eager to hold onto Purugly this is the next best thing to drop. If you were to take the third sweeper then, may I suggest Manectric.

Manectric - Modest/Timid @ Choice Scarf (with Modest)/Choice Specs (with Timid)
    252Sp.A/252Speed/6HP
    Thunderbolt
    Flamethrower
    Signal Beam
    H.P.Ice

Basic sweeper but it gets great coverage; should do the job nicely. I use the Specs + Timid variant myself sometimes and it does pretty well.

@ Above poster, why Manectric ? Explain your suggestions not just "Gee, well put in this random guy" :/ Read the rules please.

    Purugly @ leftovers
    Jolly
    Thick fat
    6 HP/100 ATK/152 DEF/ 252 SPE

    ~Fake Out
    ~Knock Off / Return
    ~U-Turn
    ~Taunt

K, protect sucks. That and you have 2 SR weaks, and no spinner. No wonder Blimp has been bad for you, you want to stop them getting SR up. period so use Taunt, this also stops them setting up Rain Dance which rips you a new one btw. Also id just use max att/max speed since purugly is kinda lacking offensively.

    Jumpluff @ leftovers
    Jolly
    Chlorophyll
    252 HP/ 252 SPE

    ~Sleep Powder
    ~Substitute
    ~Leech Seed
    ~Bounce

    Nice.

    Qwilfish @ leftovers (again lol)
    Impish
    Poison Point
    252 HP/ 252 DEF

    ~Spikes
    ~Waterfall
    ~Destiny Bond / Explosion
    ~Thunder Wave

I love this set lol, been using it a while myself. T-Wave kinda sucks with D-Bond though, if they get fully paralyzed on the turn you D-Bond it wont work, you could just blow this guy up imo.

    Drifblim @ Leftovers
    Calm
    Aftermath
    80 HP/ 252 SPE/ 178 SPD

    ~Substitute
    ~Baton Pass
~Shadow Ball / Hidden Power [Flying]
    ~Thunder Wave

Loling at T-Bolt. Use a STAB move. :/

    Marowak @ Thick Club
    Adamant
    Rock Head
    6 HP/ 252 ATK/ 252 SPE

    ~Earthquake
    ~Stone Edge
    ~Double Edge
    ~Fire Punch

    Ok, i guess.

    Linoone @ Salac Berry
    Adamant
    Gluttony
    116 HP/ 252 ATK/ 136 SPE

    ~Belly Drum
    ~Extreme Speed
    ~Seed Bomb
    ~Shadow Claw

This probably wont sweep, you lack the needed support that this 100% needs.

    Ok, comments in bold.

Contrary to what you think, i actually think Linoone is dead weight. This team lacks anything to help it sweep. For example Linoone needs Dual Screens + Memento to even have a remotely decent chance to even get in lol. So yeah it probably replace that with a more suitable physical sweeper. I mean things like Ursaring, Zangoose can all do a similar job (late game sweep) and take way less set up so really would be better solutions.

I like drifblim on this team because it gives you a fighting immunity/resist and also blocks rapid spin for you so you wont waste your time setting up spikes for nothing.

I did explain my suggestion Dark_Azelf. I explained why I thought he needed a third dedicated sweeper and suggested Manectric stating that I thought the coverage he gets should do the job nicely. What else is there to it?

    Yayzers, there be posts =P

    @Greene1515:

I wouldn't mind trying manectrike, but like Dark Azelf said, it would help if ya could give more specific reasons as to why it helps with my team.

    @Dark Azelf

Yawh, I be addin' the taunt now. For now, I'll keep knock off since my team usually breaks walls through stall (lol) so getting rid of leftovers helps a million. The evs will be changed too.

As for qwil, I've also considered explosion, but so far destiny bond has done just as well. It also has the bonus of going through substitute, which my team doesn't like having to deal with since my main sweeper is frail. (Marowak can actually take quite a few physical hits from more defensive pokes, while OHKOing or 2HKOing them) T-wave doesn't really get in the way of destiny bond, since I choose the pokes I paralyze carefully, and if I'm plannin' on using destiny bond I wont paralyze them. Of course, if they are it can also cause some nice spikes damage from switching.

On blim, I'll go back to shadow ball. It hadn't been giving much coverage that I needed, but STAB is STAB...

On linoone, I've done just fine without dual screens and memento. I can get him in on a sleep turn from jumpluff, and have for one of my sweeps with it. Marowak can put the hurt on all steels and rocks, so that isn't a problem either. Also, cuz of the way this team works, walls usually get the chance to use recover or rest, but for me that's a good thing because I can get linoone out on the predictable healing move, and then it's gg. Of course, since I've only played five games on shoddy in total, it could go if I'm more convinced that it can't rely only on sleep turns, paralysis, and walls that it gets the set up on.

Thank you very much for the rate =D
For now, I will keep drifblim as you suggested. Also, since you feel that linoone isn't being sufficiently supported, if I do end up not using it, how do you think the quick feet setup for ursaring would work on this team?

It gets great coverage and picks up more move types that your team lacks, as I said. I don't analyse all these damage calcs and try to figure out every single POkemon that counters it like some of the guys here do. If that was what you were looking for then by all means ignore my post and I will say no more.

BTW, just so as not to get off on the wrong foot Bringer, I'm not saying this is an angry or defensive way, so please don't take it that way.

Purugly: Go with Return over Knock Off. It provides a nice STAB move and can do a bit of sweeping when the pokes are weakened. Knock Off is mainly useful for bulkier pokes who can take a hit.

Jumpluff: I think you're ignoring one of its most precious moves, Encore. While Bounce might seem a good idea with Leech Seed, it isn't worth the slot. Encore is a nice check against Cacturne which roams around NU right now. U-turn is also a nice move to consider, it works extremely well with Encore and helps you stay 1 step ahead of your opponent.

Drifblim: I don't see the point of it, at least with the set you're currently using. Nothing here really benefits from a Sub, except maybe Marowak, but it's already kind of slow. You can opt for the ChestoRest or SubPetaya sets, Drifblim can become extremely dangerous with any of these.

Linoone: A smart opponent wouldn't leave a sleeping pokemon on the field. Memento Jumpluff is probably your best bet to use with Linoone, but I wouldn't recommend it, as teams are starting to work their way around Linoone recently, not allowing it to set up, or just have counters to it. You don't have a steel trapper, so your Linoone could easily be walled by Aggron and his friends.

Honestly, I'm not feeling the team synergy at all. Rain Dance teams are a huge threat to you, especially when Qwilfish's ability is Poison Point. Changing it to Swift Swim could help. You could also try a very defensive Poliwrath to help you with that, while also providing a nice answer to Agility Relicanth, which can sweep your entire team.

Try Manectric over Linoone - it has good coverage, speed and special attack. The mixed version can even 2HKO Hypno and Grumpig with the help of SR or Spikes.

1: Persian does everything Purugly does better. Extra speed and Technician bonus make it much easier for it to do his job, and Fake Out is a lot stronger. Consider a Silk Scarf or Life Orb to make the Fake Outs really hurt and put Return over Knock Off. The set is essentially the NU version of Ambipom, who I know from experience can do quite a bit of damage coming back later and hitting people with Technician STAB Fake Outs.

2: Driftblim is probably better off running the good old Chesto/Rest set. Basically max his speed and SpA, give him Calm Mind, Shadow Ball, Rest, and HP Fighting, Calm Mind till you're almost dead, rest and let the Chesto Berry activate Unburden, allowing you to outspeed everything, then sweep. As of right now, only Marowak (and perhaps Linoone) would benefit from a passed sub.

3: Use Seed Bomb or U-turn as Jumpluff's attack, Bounce is just a free switch in or setup for someone as it won't do nearly any damage coming off her pitiful attack.

4: There's no real synergy at all with this team. If you replaced Jumpluff with Gorebyss and Marowak with Relicanth then gave Quilfish an attacking set, you could make a rather decent Rain Dance team that has Drifblim and Linoone as backup checks to things that would normally stop you. Persian (err Purugly) is decent as a Rain lead as well if you give it Damp Rock and RD over U-Turn or Taunt.

Well, I've done a little bit more testing with this team, and I think that it has fairly ok synergy, but changes must still be made. Thanks for all the responses, guys!

    @Syaoran

I think I will go with return, since purugly is sorta frail. As for pluff, bounce has worked out well, but I'll give U-Turn a shot since bounce only has 8 pp. I was mostly using it for status, though, not damage. As for drifblim, I'd rather just replace it with something that can take ice attacks and do some special damage. I'm still keeping linoone for now, I don't need to always belly drum with it, as it also does great with unboosted extreme speeds to finish off pokes that marowak and qwil weakened. However, I did give him swift swim ,which helped me take care of a rain dance team without much grief.

    @d2m

I luff purugly, but I suppose I wont let that get in my way, so I'll try out a persian. I tried your advice with drifblim, but I still think that she'll just be leaving the team. Also, as stated, I'll try U-Turn on pluff. I don't think I'll do a rain team with this, though. I actually feel that this team works well together, but meh.
