4th Gen Odds On Finding Shinies?

    What are the odds roughly that a pokemon you fight is a shiny? just wondering
     
    The odds are around 1/8192
     
    I think I read this off a website somewhere. The chance of finding a shiny pokemon is 1/8192 encounters I think it is.

    i've had some odd experiences in finding shinys i only have one but it seemed like every time i would go into the cave in ruby that you collect the stuff for a shell bell I'd alway run into a shiny spheal while i was collecting the materials for the shell bell, other than that i have never ran into one outside the cave
