Official RSFrLgE MoveSet and EVs Help Topic V1.0

Umbreon - 212 HP / 176 Def / 120 SDef

Supportbreon w/ Sub -244 HP / 176 Def / 88 SDef; Relaxed; 00 Spd IV
Wishpasser - 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SDef
Chaosbreon - 212 HP / 72 Def / 224 Spd; Bold
Regular Trap-Passer - 212 HP / 240 Def / 56 SDef; Bold (Chaosbreon EVs more preferred by the majority, but I often use this)

What do you think of this weezing;

Weezing (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 136 HP / 96 Atk / 252 Def / 4 Spd / 22 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Explosion\Will-O-Wisp
- Haze
- Pain Split
- Sludge Bomb

The way i play him is to switch him unto a physical, will-o-wisp, then switch out to someone else. Later i bring him in for hazes if needed. Later on, i use explosion on something i dont like(only after making sure i wont be opening up a weakness to set-up pokes), or something weak to sludge bomb. I often use a sub\wish passing poke, so he is healable that way if needed. Also leftovers dosnt help with Pain Split(no lefties would increase PS damage a tiny bit actually)

Weezing is best with 252 HP EVs, bulking the rest into Def and Attack. It has no real use for Spd EVs, as Weezing's can't do much to each other whether they outrun the other or not, and SDef is a bit redundant as well. Flamethrower/Fire Blast are considered options over Sludge Bomb or Will-o-Wisp, since everyone predicts a WoW and switches in Milotic or a Guts abuser.

As for the Choice Band concept, you only have 1-2 physical moves that would even work with CB, and one is optional. A Choice Bander has usually at least 3 physical moves to take on offense, and Weezing doesn't fall into that category. Since Weezing is a physical wall, it constantly needs leftovers, as there are times when you've taken a hit, recover from lefties, switch out, and by the time it's back in, it's healng again. Besides, if you're hazing something like Curselax, you'll want to follow up with a WoW usually without having to switch out. After that, you can take a little advantage over it's low Defense with Sludge Bomb, and take everything from there.

If there ever was a use for CB Weezing, I'd say to use a standard EV Spread with Sludge Bomb, Explosion, Fire Blast, Thunderbolt, and some kind of Filler =/.

It was usefull and novelty at the same time when i tried it. Ill stick with the normal weezing for rated play and use this one for now. Its kind of fun

I'm playing around with Forretress at the moment.

Forretress@Leftovers
EV: 152 HP/100 Att/252 Def
Nature: + Def/-Sp Att
Explosion
Spikes
Rapid Spin
Counter/Earthquake

Can't decide between Counter or EQ. I figure I'd need less Def EV and more in HP though if I go for Countering Forretress.

Edit: I should mention this is for the Battle Frontier.

Whats the deal with 'charge', the electric attack that boosts the next electric attack? its better than tbolt in power AND pp so im wondering why it isnt on any smogon sets(specificly zapdos)

EDIT:lol, nevermind. Confused the accuracy for the power. Useless attack

If u put Magneton at the front of your team and give it Macho Brace, it will attract Skarms. So if u give an EXP.Share to a pokemon on your team while Maggy has Macho Brace and is your starter. How many Defence EV's does the pokemon with the EXP.Share get if Maggy is fighting the Skarms?
Someone answer i beg you...

I'm pretty sure a Pokemon with EXP Share that does not fight in battle would gain the same number of EVs as if it did.

yes, you are correct. The EVs aren't divided

Here's A Good Move Set For Jirachi

Jirachi, With Liechi Berry attached.

Wish
Future Sight
Psychic
Doom Desire

First, Use Future Sight. Then Use Wish. On Your Next turn, Use Doom Desire. That Turn, if Damage Has been Done to You, you regain health, then, Future Sight Does Some Damage. Use psychic for 2 Turns, and then Doom desire Should come into play.

To make the first response and try and prevent you from getting flamed, that is one of the worst Jirachi sets I've seen. Wish and Psychic are alright, but Future Sight and Doom Desire are a waste of time, as they don't do any kind of devastating damage, and most pokemon can just shrug off the damage gradually. Not to mention the fact that Liechi Berry raises your attack at low health, of which Jirachi is not using any Physical Attacks in this set. You're especially not using Jirachi's full potential, which is gained by using Calm Mind, and another Special Attack such as Thunderbolt, Thunder, ice Punch, or Fire Punch.

is this venusaur set ok

venusaur
bold
ev's-don't know yet
growth
rasor leaf
sleep powder
leech seed

Need some help figuring out EVs for my Battle Frontier team.

Tyranitar@Focus Band
EV: 80 HP/252 Att/26 Def/156 Speed
Nature: Naive (+ Speed, - Sp Def)
Dragon Dance
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Taunt

Yeah, I know the nature sucks. My IV stat gives me an even 200 in Speed with that +Speed nature.

Suicune@Chesto Berry
EV: not sure yet
Nature: Bold (+Def, - Att)
Calm Mind
Surf
Rest
Roar

Not started training this one yet, need suggestion on EVs. Took me long enough to get a Bold Suicune on Colosseum. Max Sp Def IV as well :-)

Forretress@Leftovers
EV: 252 HP/78 Att/136 Def
Nature: Impish (+Def, - Sp Att)
Earthquake
Spikes
Counter
Explosion

Not sure how useful Rapid Spin is gonna be in the Battle Frontier, so I decided against it.

Basically, my team is a cut down Suispikes team. I need suggestion on Suicune's EVs, and maybe a fix on Forretress as well. I'm also looking for an Adamant Ditto so I can fix that Tyranitar's nature (of course, it means EV training again from scratch, but it'll be worth it).

Suicune shoud have 400-401 HP, so just in case your IVs were off, i went for 252 HP. you always want a load of defense on Suicune. Normally it requires maybe 28 spd EVs, but since no other Suicune is gonna roar you out, you can just add that to another stat

Forretress@Leftovers
EV: 252 HP/78 Att/136 Def
Nature: Impish (+Def, - Sp Att)
Earthquake
Spikes
Counter
Explosion

Protect might work in some cases so keep that as an option

Seems solid IMO. Ice Beam over Roar, as once you start winning, Lat@s and random haxing stuff comes out that you'll want an Ice Beam for.

And htf did you get a Bold Suicune?

Lots and lots of resetting at the Venus battle, basically. (Colosseum) Net Balls make Snagging Suicune much easier than usual, and I had a Time Flute so I could check the nature as soon as I snagged Suicune. Unfortunately the HP IV is about 10-12 but I'll still give her max HP EV.

I'll try Protect over Counter instead on Forretress as well, not sure how useful Counter is gonna be, especially since AI trainers like their status and hodgepodge movesets.

QUOTE]

I was about to do the same thing when I found I had only a BRave natured cune and a non-EV trained Modest one .-.

Forretress isn't working for me as well as I'd hoped. Sure, I've got 4 x Grass resistance which both Tyranitar and Suicune are both weak to (well, maybe not Suicune after a CM or two), and resistance to Fighting for Tyranitar, but not enough offence, especially for something like the Battle Arena.

I had a think about this, and the best I could come up with was to replace with Zapdos. Covers pretty much all weaknesses, besides my team really hurts for lack of an electric move.

I've only got access to one Zapdos at the minute, but it's the XD one. Has a Docile nature (neutral), so I figure he can use both STABs relatively effectively. Any suggestion for moves/EVs much appreciated.

I have a ingame torchic probably 5 minutes in from starting, on emerald. What moves will i be wanting and more importantly when and how do i get them? And maybe 1-2 pokes that would compliment it. This team would be for beating the game, not actual battling.

I have not played pokemon ADV much yet and just picked it up. looks like my nemesis will be using a gardeviour ;)

Torchic, like most fire starters, have a difficult start early on, but rip through the later gyms.

You'll probably want to aim for something along these lines. THis is what I'm using on my starter Blaziken, since I was just using that to help me through the game

Blaziken(F)@Focus Band
EV:Who knows, who cares
Nature: see above
Trait: Blaze
Bulk Up
Sky Uppercut
Flamethrower
Slash

Early on, Torchic has trouble with the gyms. The first one is Rock, so you'll probably want to snag a Shroomish from Petalburg Woods (rare) to help you there, and Taillow for the second gym, which are Fighting types. After that, the next trouble you'll face is Fortree's Flying Gym, and Mossdeep's Psychic gym. Bag yourself a half-decent electric like Manectric, and maybe the ever-common Mightyena for the twins (although a good Water type covers pretty much everything they can throw at you, between Surf and Ice Beam.) If you've got all three starters, keep em around for ease of play.

That's good to get through the game.

The standard set for Blaziken.

Blaziken @ Leftovers
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
-Sky Uppercut
-Fire Blast
-Swords Dance
-Rock Slide/Earthquake
