It seems like a very stupid trade, but then again, I also started with Piplup and raised it to a Lv.100 Empoleon. I used many Vitamins, EV trained it, and took special care to raise it properly, but it's still very weak. It's stats are all in the low 200's and high 100's. As much effort as I put into it, I can't even use it in my team for battles with my friends and Wi-Fi battles because it loses so frequently. I guess I understand a little his point of view, as I wouldn't be surprised if the Heatran's stats surpassed it's by a high amount. However, I stand by that it was not a good trade, for if he wanted a Heatran, he could go catch it himself like the rest of us and not sacrafice his Starter Pokemon.
