4th Gen Oh the elusive Shiny Pokemon are driving me insanity! AHHH!

    I am at Ho-Oh in Heart Gold, and I have been resetting my game because I really want a shiny. I have never encountered a wild shiny in my entire Pokemon career, I started with Pokemon Blue, So I am determined to get one. For a whole day I have just been resetting over and over and over and oner and over and over and over....and over with no luck of encountering a shiny. I am not surprised with the odds being like 1/8192 or something like that. Is there any thing I can possibly do to increase my odds even if it is by one?
     
    Take your English Pokemon.

    Breed it with a Pokemon from a different language version (Japanese, French, etc.)

    Your chances of getting a shiny rise by 3/4, becoming 1/2048.

    Neat little fact, didn't know that.

    Frankly they're really rare to come across in the wild and I wouldn't bank on one randomly popping up anytime soon. In platinum I couldn't believe my luck when I caught a shiny starly early on. Otherwise I think I had no pokeballs when I found a shiny in LeafGreen.
     
    Thanks for the advice. That doesn't really help in my situation, but I will keep that in mind for future shiny endeavors. I am front of Ho-Oh and want to catch a Shiny Ho-Oh. I have reset my games hundreds of times now. Is there any way I can increase my odds while trying to catch a shiny legendary?
     
    The only option you have is to keep soft-resetting until a Shiny Ho-Oh is to appear. There really is no way of increasing the chances of finding it as a shiny other than pure luck. So good luck and do hope you find it eventually. ;)
