Hi everyone. Back in the day i played the red/blue silver/gold version on gameboy when i was a kid. After that i quit growing up and stuff. Now i want to get back in a little bit mainly for online battles. Back then i rarely had the chance to play another person (my opinion the funnest part of the game) i just played the elite 4 (sad I know), nerverthe less i was pretty diehard, but now its time to make up. Being in the dark for sometime I have a few questions if you guys could help me get updated i qould appreciate it.

    1. Is there anyway for online play with the gameboy versions or computer emulator versions, or do i have to or am reccomended to just buy a DS with the latest version?

    2. I am assuming with online battling, natural or 'legal' hacks are common and allowed. (In my opinion its too time consuming and limits creativity of customizing your pokemon without hacking rare candys , natural tms, etc, im assuming most agree with this?)
Are levels automaxed out or euqally matched when battling or is everyones pokemon all hacked to the max level anyway? :)

    3. I really am not interested in playing the normal game i just want to hack naturally and customize some pokemon sets and battle. Is this appliable, or some pokemon cant be hacked/you have to play?

    4. Am i at a great disadvantage knowing just the first 250 , which i would mostly be using anyway because of familarity.

    5. Is there anything else i should know? Anything particually newer than the old versions i should know about?

    Hello and welcome to PC!

    1. Im not so sure about battling with the GBA games but i am sure you can migrate pokemon from the GBA games after earning the national pokedex in Pokemon D/P. Also im sure if the person with the emulator had a certain program they could trade and battle with a NDS in D/P but remember the person using the emulator must have the game before using it or delete the file within 24 hours.

    2. I don't battle alot so i can't answer this sorry.

    3. Well to get to certain pokemon in D/P you have to go further in the game. But im sure you could find a way around that if you wanted to.

    4. Not at that much of a disadvantage i would think.

    5. Well except new pokemon and new moves i don't think so.

I hope i helped you out a bit. Remember to follow the rules and enjoy yourself. See you around.
