I hope the title got you fellow Game Makers to look at this. :)

Well. There are many, many members making there own projects these days. There fore the members who want to join teams have reduced as most members want to make there own game these days.

So I was wondering. Does anyone want to join a "You Help, We Help" program? Basically if you are making your own game. You can get the chance to use your skills to help others who are skilled in a different areas and then they will help you with the skill they have in there areas.

    Okay lets make an example.

Member 1 and Member 2 are both making a Pokemon game.

Member 1 is good at Mapping, and rubbish and Spriting.
Member 2 is good at Spriting, and rubbish at mapping.

So Member 1 will make maps for himself/herself, and will also make Maps for Member 2.
    And...
Member 2 will make Sprites for himself/herself, and will also make Sprites for Member 1.

This way they both get them.

Imagine if a good amount of Members joined. They are all good at least one or more thing. We all help each other out.

    Now that's a good idea.

I myself can organize, make stories, plan almost everything, code websites, and also I am an extremely good Mapper.

If YOU need any help with a gaming project. You may join this program. I myself will personally make sure who ever gives also receives.

If you want to join: Post a REPLY saying "What a amazing Idea. I would like to Join!"

You may do so as long as you follow these requirements:

    • Have at least one skill. The more the better.
    • Your project must not be an idea, or new with nothing established. There must be some sort of progress.
    • You must be willing to help others, to receive your help.

So if you want to join. Just follow them instructions. :)

I will contact everyone who applies.

    Thanks,
    BlueEew.

I like this idea. You could do the help thing like this:

You must have helped three other projects on order to qualify for help on your project. They can be defined as helpful by the person they are helping. Basically, they sign up to help on a project, and the person in charge of the project can say whether they were helpful or not.

The reason for three projects is to ensure that all projects get help. It can be any number really.

Now you got me on all kinds of ideas for this. Excellent idea, I can see this getting really big!

Thank you for your nice words. :) Are you in?

Also I was thinking to give away free hosting to those who have lots of work for their project so they can make a website and organize everything. I will even have a customizable layout for them to use so life os easy. :)

Hey, you can count me in ^^... Well if it gets enough people xD I'm pretty good at mapping and eventing... But am rubbish at making fakemon for my game.. Woops I said to much ^^;;. As I have not yet posted my game on these forums you can add me on msn if you'd like me to show you the progress I have done so far ^^. My msn is [email protected] if you couldn't tell by the way xD

I guess I'm in, I'm a good mapper, good writer, and decent at eventing. Though I am dreadful at: tile spriting, overworld spriting, character spriting, fakemon spriting, and scripting...

I think that if you can pull this off, you might want to create a public registry of members. This way, you can see who has joined and what they can do. You might even want to see if you can include a list of current projects, or possibly have people update their posts in this thread to mention their current project what they need help on, and who they are currently helping. I also thinkt that with graphic artists (people who listed spriting as medium or higher), you should have them include examples of work, so that people can get an idea of what they can do. An example posting format could be something to the effect of:

Current Project: Project name (linking to thread or non-rulebreaking site)

Currently helping: (username, project name, or N/A)

    Skills:

    Mapping: (poor, medium, high, expert)
Spriting (tiles): (poor, medium, high, expert)
Spriting (characters): (poor, medium, high, expert)
Spriting (fakemons): (poor, medium, high, expert)
    Scripting: (poor, medium, high, expert)
    Music: (poor, medium, high, expert)
    Eventing: (poor, medium, high, expert)
Fine-Tuning (balancing characters, enemies): (poor, medium, high, expert)
Fine-Tuning (spell-checking, grammar): (poor, medium, high, expert)

Optionally, people could list themselves as a beta tester, with the following posting format:

    Beta Tester

Current beta: (project name, as a link to the project thread or site, or available)

Nice idea, if I were making a game that needed graphics, or sounds, I would say sign me up, (as I can't make graphics or sounds), but as I'm not... And also, the only think I can really offer is sphere scripting. No use at all in the world of RMXP which most people seem to want to use...

Yeah, well, I already give hours of my time to other people's sphere games. And my two current projects (ones a game the others a sort of starter pack thing) don't need any abilities other than sphere scripting, well, I could also do with motivation, for some reason I find it so much easier to help other people with their projects than to make my own.

I can map if anybody can program?

Program in what? C, C++? I can do a little, but I wouldn't want to make a game from scratch yet...

RPG maker scripting, count me out...

    Sphere, see my sig.

I could help too. I can make overworld sprites, in battlesprites, tiles, and region maps. I can also map and come up with ideas. The one thing i need help with is scripting. I know nothing about scripting.
