Do you name your Pok?mon in a specific way? Do you name them by certain lists of names, titles, things, etc.? What system do you use, if any?

Starting from Gold version on up, I've always named my Pok?mon using systems:

    Gold: my friends
    Crystal: food personalities
Sapphire: characters from a TV show dealing with lawyers
Fire Red: characters from a TV show dealing with crime analysis

Each of the systems in question uses last names from a list of full names.

    What are your systems?

Purely upon whim, and as long as it fits in a certain way. For example, I named my Alakazam ''Deep Blue'', alluding to the strategical supercomputer and since Alakazam is known for its insane I.Q. of 5000. I've also named some of my pok?mon after mythological creatures (Steelix- ''Titan''), celebrities (Primape- ''Mike Tyson''), whilst others upon spur-of-the-moment ideas (Blaziken- ''KFC'').

I nickname some of mine. The current ones for my Leaf Green version are Da Vinci which iis Ivaysaur(sp) and Peta for Pidgeotto. I don't know why I named it Peta, probably got it off from somewhere.

Hm... it depends on the type of pokemon; I never do bother naming 'em, but, once in my blue version, I named my Venusaur "Ash" and my Vaporeon "Misty" XD

I cannot live without nicknaming my Pokemon. It's a habit I have.
In all 3 of my games, I just nickname them whatever pops into my head, but in Gold and Sapphire, I nickname them by gender.

Currently, in Gold, I am nicknaming my Pokemon after characters from The Incredibles, i.e. my Chikorita is nicknamed Elastigirl, stuff like that. In Sapphire....I just noticed that I am doing the same thing, although I just restarted and now have a female Torchic named Elastigirl. FYI, Chikorita is also a girl.

In Blue Version....I just nickname them whatever pops into my head. Once I nicknamed an Exeggcute Eggy...o.0

In my current Blue game, here are some of the nicknames.
    Sparker for Pikachu
    Azriella for a female Nidoran
    Excalibur for a male Nidoran
    Ratterinia for a Rattata(o.0)
    Paratroopa for a Kakuna(don't ask)
    Dragonfire for a Charmander

Those are all in my team.

I'm a nickname freak! In my current game Leafgreen. I usually name them after people who played parts in my life.
    Combusken: Cassidy
Torchic: Cici in honor of Cassidy's older sister who fought for the honorary title
Pidgeotto: Kazooie in honor of the breegull who touched my heart.
Larvitar: Jeff in honor of Clair's younger brother who defended her from Lance and the other horny guys.
Dratini: Clair in honor of my dream girl, guardian angel and my ultimate idol
Ninetails: Cassidy in honor of Jessie's rival who has long, lustering golden h air like the Sun Goddess she is.
Articuno: Miyamoto in honor of Jessie's mom who "died" in a blizzard and may have become today's Prima.

Meh. I usually name 'em after creatures from other games. XD
