Okay folks, I got to Victory Road on Pokemon Sapphire, then quit. I finally came back and decided to finish the game. Take a look at (what I would call) one of the most amazing battles ever (the elite four)...

    My lineup:
    Ninetales
    Kyogre
    Swellow
    Swampert
    Manectric
    Hariyama

For some stupid reason, the first battle with Sidney is always a pain. My Ninetail's Fire Spin gets Sidney's Shiftry down to about 10 HP, then he does a full restore (x3).

    Greeattt...

Phoebe: well I just owned her with Kyogre's Hydro Pump... no biggie. 1 hit KOs.

Glacia: okay she is a pain in the butt too. Everything goes fine until Manectric's Thunder attack doesn't work. Glacia eventually took down *all* my pokemon. I defeated her final Walerein with my only pokemon left: Kyogre.

Drake: This is where Kyogre's power was truly displayed. I went into the battle with Drake with ONLY Kyogre. Kyogre's moves are: Body Slam, Hydro Pump, Waterfall, and Ice Beam. Ice Beam to take out Shelgon, and both his Flygons, plus his Altaria. Salamance was a problem, but Ice Beam completely obliterated him.

So I defeat Drake with ONLY Kyogre left. I came in with Kyogre, and I went out with Kyogre.

Don't forget I had about 10 Hyper Potions (helps insanely).

Steven surprised me even more. Skarmony was no problem. Cradily... Icceee Beam. MORE ICE. Arrgon was completely killed by Watefall (yay).

Claydol finally finished me off. Don't worry, I gave him one heck of a time. You know how the Elite Four has about an inifinate supply of Full Restores. Well, yeah, that's what Steven did. At this point, I was only down to Kyogre and his Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, AND Waterfall were out of PP. That leaves me with... Body Slam. How did I make this so long an agonizing? Body slam = it paralizes them. So, I Body Slammed Claydol to death. Full Restore. Body slam him to death. Full Restore. Body slam him to death. Full restore. Finally, my Body Slam failed me and didn't paralyze him. I was out of Hyper Potions (and almost out of PP with Body Slam). He finished me off.

That was fun. I won a lot of money, so I can go buy myself a lifetime supply of potions and now I can do it all overrrr again....

Talk about lucky and amazing. :o

Wow, that's cool. ^_^ Too bad you lost... oh well, your Kyogre fought well.

A similar thing happened to me on LeafGreen. I was down to Gary, had like practically NO heal items (seriously, maybe just 2) Had my Pidgeot (half HP I think), Snorlax (half or full hp.. dont remember) and I think my lil Bulba (half HP too, I think) Anyway, I saved before I faced Gary, and I had to restart SO many times. I had to plan EACH and EVERY move perfectly. Like, everytime I would get SOOO close with my trusty Snorlax (with rest) but then his Exeggutor would usually knock me out with that Egg Explosion or whatever. So I had to carefully distribute my couple remaining heal items among my pokes and experiment with different TMs.

Long story (and I mean LOOOONG) short, I used Pidgeot at the beginning, then had to bring out Bulbasaur to toxic/leech seed Alakazam (but then he got knocked out by Alakazam in like 1 or so hits due to his weakness), and then leave the rest up to good ol' Snorlax. His moveset was

    Body Slam,
Surf (funny - I got out of victory road, but didn't have a PKMN that knew surf with me, so I was gonna have to fly back to a PKMN center and go ALL the way through the cave again, but oh so thankfully Snorlax was there to ferry me across the water ^_^)
    Rest
    Double Team

I instantly let him go through the max amount of Double Teams. And I had given him a quick claw as his item, cause I didnt have anything better, and thought it COULD be a big help - and it was!! along with snorlax's hasty nature, the quick claw allowed him to attack first at some crucial times.

So eventually, down to Gary's last PKMN, which I believe was his starter, and so that'd be Charizard. Snorlax was low on HP, so I had to Rest, Body Slam (Snorlax has a high critical hit ratio - he paralyzed the diff pokes a lot) (I don't know if I Surf'ed.. Snorlax Attack is much higher than Spc. Attack, so Body Slam would like do more damage anyway)

and so anyway it was down to the wire - like, I think one more hit to either of us and the battle would be over. I was praying and going like, "C'mon Snorlax!! You can do it!!!"

And then, if I'm not mistaken, something like this happened:
Charizard was about to deliver the "final" blow, but Snorlax DODGED it!! (either that or he still remained with some HP) and then he delivered the final blow - which I believe was Body Slam, and won me, and all of us, the championship!!!

That battle took like, 30 or 35 minutes, seriously.

And so I love my Snorlax ^_^ He really is awesome. And yes, I do grow attached to my pokemon and talk to them, lol.

I guess that story wasn't so short huh? Well, it brings back the memories...

(side note - my Groudon faced the elite 4 the other day, and I used fissure a lot cause it started losing PP, and it hit 4 out of 5 times!!! Pretty good for an attack that only hits 30% of the time ;) way to go Groudon!)

Haha, okay, I'll shut up now.

Wow that's a really neat story. I guess there are a lot of people out there that get lucky.

As an extra note, I just whopped Steven and won the championship. Ironically, I didn't like level up so much that I learned a bunch of new powerful moves to kill him. I honestly think you have to play smart and thats how you win. You have to fail numerous times before you know what pokemon to use and when and where you use certain attacks. It's a matter of experience, not strength (did you notice that most of the pokemon in the league rarely use strong attacks, they use confuse ray or burn you to death).

That's why you buy Revives and losing the Elite 4 will never be a problem. I usually get around 6-8 before I first challenge the Elite 4. One for each of my Pokemon and maybe a couple more in case I have bad luck.

Also, on Emerald, I beat the Elite 4 using only a Shedinja! Of course, Shedinja was at like Lv. 90 because it was the only Pokemon I used in the game so it got a ton of experience.

    LeafGreen:
What i do is find and defeat as many trainers as i can in one day in preperation for the big day (Elite 4). This means i gain lots of money which is added onto the top of my original money which i never spend because i dont need too ^_^ Then i buy 20 Full Restores and 20 Revives. I found some Max revives which i only use against the elite four on my strongest pokemon. I go into battle using two of my best pokemon, Blastoise and Rayquaza. When one of them faints i get out a weak back-up pokemon which is a decoy too revive my best pokemon when they need it. This is why i beat them on my first try =D I gave some small level 5 egg pokemon some EXP.shares which helped gain huge levels.
