    I was invited to PC's get-together through e-mail.

    Spoiler:

I thought "I haven't seen this before," and decided to take a look. Turns out it was a series of events to take place. It had a lot of things to do: contests, animations, art, battles, tournaments, etc. I looked down the list, looking forward to something that I would enjoy...until I reached the end of the list.

So, I offered some ideas before the event actually began, like a dream discussion thread, music composition, video game discussion, etc. That post recieved zero attention, not even from the people who organize the event.

So I waited until the events started to see what popped up. Then I found out that none of these things are for me. They either don't interest me, or they're too complicated and difficult to finish in a day. I made a post, offering the suggestions again, and in no time at all, that post was buried underneath a conversation about Eurovision (I think).

And they were simple suggestions. Making a few more threads to add to the events, like a dream discussion thread, a music composition thread, and a video game idea thread. Something that suits the odd ones out and their interests.

Then I began to get frustrated, so I posted again, this time, I put more effort in the post, hoping to get my message across. That post was buried too.

This is why I stay away from events on PC; I get completely brushed aside when I try to participate. It's always been like that. There's nothing I can really hope to do about it.

I've given up on the get-together now. I feel left out. In fact, I feel like I'm being ignored altogether. :(

The events were decided over the last week, people volunteered to organise them, and they probably took their time over the last short while getting everything in order. You come back the day before, and expect your ideas to magically come to life without any effort. Somehow I don't think this was ever going to happen, even if people had liked the ideas.

(Though I admit a composition contest would actually have me interested in this thing)

The charger to my laptop was broken, so my laptop ran out of power. You can't go on the internet with a computer that has no power. My laptop is the only computer that has internet. Nobody in my family will let me on theirs.

At the very least, I got a response on here. Thanks. No one would even correct the flaws in my posts if there were any.

I didn't even know that the events were planned so long ago.

The events were planned over the course of the month. If you suggested ideas and nobody took them and made an event with them, it's because they did not have the time or interest, or perhaps they were already busy planning their own events. (Though if you suggested things as late as yesterday, it would have been impossible to plan them because the deadline was roughly a week ago anyway, iirc.)

:/ Best you can do is suck it up and either participate in whatever you can find that interests you, or start looking forward to the Hallowe'en Mini Get-Together we'll be having (which will hopefully have more notice!) or even get the jump on planning for next year~

It's unfortunate that you weren't around for the planning part but... there isn't much we can do about it.

To begin with, the Get-Together isn't for discussion; we have other boards for that. The Get-Together is for contests of all kinds, such as drawing/writing/gaming/photography etc.

Moreover, in your post you mentioned that most contests are unable to be completed in one day. There are 2 things wrong with that comment.
    1. Most contests leave the whole duration of the Get-Together to leave the player time to complete them, unless they have short or easy tasks (Photography, Pokemon Person Snap).
    2. If those are difficult to be completed in one day, how would a music composition contest be easier?Simple answer: It wouldn't.

And, as the others above me have said, everyone prepared for the Get-Together long before it started, and instead of making a thread you could have posted the latest in the "Get-Together Working Combee" thread, where people could offer to be staff for events they suggest.

Do these Get Togethers only happen once in a while then?

I looked at a few but they all confused me or looked complicated, probably because I'm new and don't know what a lot of the abbreviations mean etc.

It happens once a year, but a smaller one happens during Halloween.
