Online Link Battles

Me and a friend are looking to battle w/ the vba link. Now, we have connected and all, but when we get to the pokecenter battle, it asks me to 'be leader' or to 'join.' Yet for him, it justs saves, than 'awaits for player' Help plz???

Actually, ask in Emulation's Simple Questions Thread, assuming VBA stands for Visual Boy Advance, which is an emulator. CBC's Simple Q&A Thread is more for battling and team building help.
