" I WASN"T EFFFFING TRYING TO DO THAT! " Jing yelled at Shylocke as he rushed behind the older boy and punched him as hard as the fourteen-year old could manage. He was angry. He grabbed Saria's hand, and pulled her close to him.
He whispered into her ear, " I wasn't. "
He then let her go and ran past Shylocke, down the tunnel. Soon he came to an intersection. This particular tunnel led to other Rebel Bases. There was an entire network of underground tunnels. There were about four passages to take. On a whim, Jing took the left.
He took of his shoes, and ran a hand through his hair as he continued to run. This tunnel was deserted. It led to an abandoned base. He ran even faster; now he was at his limit. And yet, he kept going.
His brown shirt was behind him now too, he had taken it off. All he had now was his pants, and goggles. He let loose a hysterical laugh.
Another intersection; and once again, left. His feet hurt from running along cool metal, and he was sweating. Another hysterical laugh, but he stumbled half-way through. He hit the metal floor swearing profusely.
In the eerie, deserted passage he lay. The skin on his chest stuck to the floor, forcing him to get up and continue on his way.
The pounding of his feet echoed through the hallway no more. He was gone. He had either way to choose. There was a ladder in front of where he had been. Up or down.
He chose down.He went quite a ways down that ladder, opening and closing all trap-doors. Until he was at the bottom. No more ladder to climb down. He wanted to get as far away as possible. A steel door was on the left. On the right, what looked like it had been a pantry.
He was lucky, the door had a lock on the inside. He made sure to lock it, then lay down on the hard carpet. He stared at the door for a while, then closed his eyes.
