Hey guys. It's been awhile. Last time I asked about a sandstorm team. It works, but my friends hate my tanky talonflame. So one of them challenged me to make a new team, with one catch. If I run a mega, it has to be an ORAS mega.

Now that seems simple enough. ORAS did introduce a couple a really goods megas. I added a stipulation. I wanna run a mega that isn't common. This means a non-OU mega, though the other party pokemon can be OU. I got an interesting start, but not sure where to go, so I want input. The team isn't solid, even slightly, so feel free to post whatever you think of that satisfies the rules.

    Here's my start:

    Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
    Ability: Swift Swim
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Rain Dance
    - Earthquake
    - Waterfall
    - Ice Punch

    Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
    Ability: Iron Barbs
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
    Sassy Nature
    IVs: 0 Spe
    - Stealth Rock
    - Gyro Ball
    - Power Whip
    - Leech Seed

    Rotom-Heat @ Leftovers
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Overheat
    - Thunder
    - Shadow Ball

    Noivern @ Life Orb
    Ability: Infiltrator
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Focus Blast
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Hurricane
    - Roost

Politoed should be used as a backup rain setter if Swampert can't find time to get Rain Dance up:
    -Hydro Pump
    -Ice Beam
    -Focus Blast
    -Hypnosis/Psychic/Scald
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 172 HP/252 SAtk/84 Spe
    Item: Damp Rock
    Ability: Drizzle

    or
    -Scald
    -Toxic
    -Encore/Hypnosis
    -Hypnosis/Ice Beam/Rest
    Nature: Calm
    EVs: 252 HP/4 SAtk/252 SDef
    Item: Damp Rock
    Ability: Drizzle

Even though Heat Rotom can handle opposing Ferrothorn, it's not recommended as a partner for Swampert because Ferrothorn can switch out fearing Overheat. Magnezone and/or Gothitelle are better partners for Swampert because they trap and eliminate Ferrothorn:

    Magnezone:
    -Thunderbolt
    -Volt Switch
    -Flash Cannon
    -Hidden Power (Fire)
    Nature: Modest/Timid
    EVs: 172 HP/252 SAtk/84 Spe (Modest) or 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe (Timid)
Item: Choice Specs (Modest)/Choice Scarf (Timid)
    Ability: Magnet Pull

    or
    -Magnet Rise
    -Thunderbolt
    -Flash Cannon
    -Hidden Power (Fire)
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 128 HP/252 SAtk/128 Spe
    Item: Air Balloon
    Ability: Magnet Pull

    Gothitelle:
    -Psychic
    -Thunderbolt
    -Hidden Power (Fire)
    -Trick
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 172 HP/252 SAtk/84 Spe
    Item: Choice Specs
    Ability: Shadow Tag

Noivern should use Draco Meteor over Dragon Pulse. Sure, the Special Attack drop is crippling, but Noivern is meant to be a hit-and-run Pokemon.

Also, I'd consider Dragalge over Noivern because it has better bulk to switch into resisted hits; Tornadus is also worth considering as it also sets up Rain Dance:

    Dragalge:
    -Sludge Wave
    -Draco Meteor
    -Hidden Power (Fire)/Focus Blast
    -Scald/Focus Blast
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 200 HP/240 SAtk/12 SDef/56 Spe
    Item: Choice Specs/Dragon Fang/Poison Barb/Draco Plate/Toxic Plate
    Ability: Adaptability

    Tornadus:
    -Rain Dance
    -Hurricane
    -Superpower/Focus Blast
    -Knock Off/Taunt
    Nature: Naive/Timid
    EVs: 4 Atk/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Damp Rock/Life Orb
    Ability: Prankster

    Definitely thought the Politoed.

Hadn't thought of Dragalge. Thought of Noivern cause my friends runs one, but I like Dragalge more.

And I would run Magnezone...But I am horrible at IV manipulation, and hp fire is going to be really specific to breed. That's my bane: hp breeding.

The last issue is that with the team as Dragalge, Mega Swampert, Magnezone, Ferrothorn, and Politoed...I understand Tornadus is good, but I hate him with a passion...what what be a good 6th? Was thinking a fairy for Dragon switch in, but Politoed runs ice beam. Rock type, maybe?

    Try a Physically Defensive Blissey

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
    Bold Nature
    - Soft-Boiled
    - Stealth Rock
    - Toxic
    - Thunder

It plays off of Rain Dance and Drizzle, while being a tank with unparalleled recovery. Thunder also stops taunt locks, allowing for switch outs.

I wouldn't use Thunder on Blissey, as not only is it strong enough to really abuse it, but Ground Pokemon, especially Excadrill, hard-wall it. Dragalge already soaks up special attacks just fine.
