Our World Today: Better or Worse?

The world today is far better than it was?

I THINK NOT. Although we have advanced technology to build things like rockets, cars, trains, factories and stuff like that we never seem to have enough money to build a machine which can help the planet do we?

We spend millions a day making rockets to go to outer space and find new things out, but is it going to waste? We could be spending that money on machines that can help stop polluting and more

Now thats over i am gonna go grab a lamington xD

I have no problem with people's religious beliefs Sims, I would just prefer it if they would contribute to the topic that they themselves started. As you said, what this particular is saying has almost 0 relevance to the thread, because as said by several people a religious prophecy has no real standing in a topic about what humanity has achieved or destroyed.

Meh, perhaps Magera is right, perhaps I was expecting too much by hoping for a debate. It's a pity, I like topics like this...

Actually, since everyone apparently thinks the world is going to end, why NOT explore space and colonize other planets? Yes, the technology is far off, but we'll get there eventually. Also, NASA is way underfunded (I know an astrophysicist who knows this stuff, so I can't tell you what the percentage of the budget is, but it's like 2%, which isn't that much for freakin' ROCKETS).

You were.

I had actually tried to delete that comment, as I did notice you didn't really hash any beliefs.

Unless we go deep, but forget that, you could all burn. I'm tired, so yeah...no more work for me.

I do love polar pears, though. Shame. Effects of Greenhouse gases.

Even, I think, our world goes so... uh, anyways, as they say, prayers will save you.

Oh, good god. *facepalm*

Water has been found on Mars. There's also a form of substance we could use in nuclear powerplants in Moon. Though we don't have a way to aquire them yet. Waste? I think not.

Of course maybe people have said what I wanted to say but I feel like contributing.

Really, it varies. Technology, health, society, and communication has definitely improved. People can have surgeries if they need them, we have chemicals in our tap water to help our teeth from decaying, we can now befriend someone in Australia if we're in America, black people are no longer in slavery, and sexism isn't nearly as bad as it's been. Women can now get good jobs and no longer have to be confined to the kitchen like how that internet meme goes. And back in the old days, you were either rich or poor. There was barely a middle class. And back in the old days, disease and famine were a serious issue. Oh yeah, and if you wanted to say you were homosexual, you'd not only be an outcast but sometimes you would be killed or tortured.
And the life expectancy was a lot lower. Go back to the medieval days and you'd be lucky to see forty.

However, there's also the reverse, even if it's by only a decade. Because the country is now more economically conservative, no longer do you find fancy buildings with admirable detail being built, instead it's just for function only. People used to dress so fancy and nice back then but now they dont have time to make their own clothes so they just wear boring old mass produced clothes. Decency has declined too. If anyone has seen that infamous picture of two photos of old and new beach outfits, you'd know what I'm talking about. Back then, you'd probably be arrested for wearing a thong on the beach but now people do it all the time. Little kids are also growing up faster and starting to dress like prostitutes when they're only eight. And in the 1920s, men wore suits casually. Nowadays they'll wear any crap they can find. And a common belief is that tv and music are declining as we approach the future years.

So I say live in an old house with your laptop, and admire the old artists who worked so hard on details while using a program like photoshop to express yourself. Combine the good of the old and the new.

I also think that it isn't a waste, but still we spend to much on going to outer space.

We are searching for a new place to live on when the sun blows up and sucks everything up, like a black hole does, this is said to happen in about 500 million years

We appear to spending lots more on old people who are going to die soon anyway. Of course, what's worth investing in is subjective, but you can see that NASA really doesn't get that much money, compared to other industries and programs that don't involve rockets.

Also, we're not trying to expand to more planets because of a black hole or that our sun will eventually go supernova: Earth only has so many resources and so much area for people (as well as animals and plants) to live in. Unless we want to start looking like Brazil and build shoddy buildings on top of each other.

Yes, what you said is partially true Megera, but isn't finding more resources for people and animals and so forth, just much like going to another planet because sooner or later something will happen? It isn't JUST because are resources will run out, that is what i am trying to say here xD

It means "retribution" for short-punishment for all the greedy things we have done to the world Our Creator gave us.
We are making our own doomsday. One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it...

I dunno, I've made it a point not to die many times. Let's say a hundred.

I haven't died once.

0/100 = 0

I don't consider that "often".

People, it doesn't just mean you Megera. Millions die a day because of pollution in the air, especially in China.

I think this is just becoming a total war over what is right and what isn't xD

"One" meaning many people, am i right LOYAL?

I thought so, also i would say MANY people plan their own death with EVERY bit of rubbish they throw on the ground xD
