Our World Today: Better or Worse?

I have another theory,the hydrogen that is fueling the Sun may run out one day.But its just a theory though..(Nice pic.)

That's not a different theory, it's the same one. The sun's surface is predominantly hydrogen, this was one of the energy sources that it uses.

I just estimated that-Global Warming,Food shortage are the factors,etc.(If your taking the mass decrease of humans everywhere..)

I think you need to research your factors before estimating anything. As I have told you (And provided evidence and figures), the situation of global warming has significantly improved in the majority of the world, with a host countires making a concious effort to minimise its effects. As with the food crisis, this is to do with price and inflation, and less to do with quantity. If it was really a case of food shortages there would be plans to instigate rationing ect, and as far as I'm aware this is also not a problem.

Here's a better response of our world today: Who cares?
I don't think that's better at all. Because a lot of people care. And it would take a long time to talk about all of them. XD

I think the world is worse. I think our technology is driving the earth towards its ruin. I wish I lived back in North America before Europe invaded... Life was hard, but they didn't mind it.

No, they minded a lot, haha. Marshland is not very friendly, after all.
If they didn't mind it so much, how come they wanted the Europeans gone? They just wanted their land back, and we took it from them... I feel so guilty about it. XD I'm told I should be Catholic. But that would be hard for me, I don't believe in Jesus x.x So I can't. =P But I really wish I could have been born a Native American. Heck, maybe I was in a past life. XP

My school taught me about the horror of Colonial America.
Hardships = patriotism?

I believe the world has gotten better over the years, progress, tolerance, and open mindedness have generally risen up to levels untinkable in ancient times, and I believe the reason why people say the world has more problems than ever is because they know it does, this age of information brings it to us from everywhere, so it's not the fact that's worse, we jsut find out more of the bad things, but think about how it would have been in ancient times, if we knew every single crime, or bad news what was happening in the world, compared to today, it would be overwhelming.

They are obviously improving, the human error which barely repeats its mistakes again, will lessen but don't be so simple minded to think it will never stop.

The World IS a better place.

That is true the world today is a better place than it was before. You have put in a nutshell my thoughts on why it is better. To be frank the degree of open mindedness today was unthinkable 60 years ago (We are within reach of a first AA USA Prez in History).
With the advent of the Internet and instant communication I'm "talking" to people from around the World through these forums from the US to Russia,England to Japan etc. The problem is that the technology we have is being abused, if we act more responsibly and more conscientiously we might be able to mitigate the mistakes done in the past.
About the Science vs. Religion discussion earlier I believe the observations science has given us (It is always ever changing) but I just can't make myself to abandon my religion because I've been brought up by a great Roman Catholic grandmother and cannot bring myself to believe that there is just nothingness in the afterlife.

Be an optimist (yet realist) and believe that things could always be better than it is Today. Start a grassroots effort to make people bring into focus the problems that plague our World Today (We are all in the same boat and in this together.) For our posterity and the future, The World IS a better place.

Human errors, are one of the factors, too. I think you all see the things they are doing.
(Asura is right..)
Just like the illegal logging, dumping and even fishing.

Seriously, if they're your best examples of humanity's faults, you have some issues. Especially fishing, it's hardly the epitome of human destruction.

And that is why one should never argue with a hippie. =3

Human faults? I think they must simply apply the proverb '' look before you leap '' because it would be better if they mind their actions.
The destruction of nature seems on-going.

They looked at the fish, leapt at it, caught it and ate it, decided it was delicious, and they kept looking.

What a terrible excuse...

I couldn't bear to watch it because it was obviously made with feeble evidence, i.e. the black top of the mountain and the rock with the gap in the middle. You fail.

The one bad thing that could happen is if creationism pushes itself into schools and subsequently brings us to a new bronze age. But it seems like America is turning out for the better.

And that is why one should never argue with a hippie. =3

I never knew he was a hippie... :D

Anyway, on a more serious note, I agree with Gofre on that. How exactly is fishing causing destruction? o_o;

The companies that do mass fishing are rapidly depleting the numbers of fish before they have enough time to breed and replenish their numbers. This means less fish for species that we don't eat (dolphins, whales, sharks). Anyone know if it's possible to have fish farms? Or a really giant tank?
