The sorrow from my life gone by,
The feeling of my tears have died.
The strength within me was swept away,
Will I ever see the moon again?

She used to light my life like a flickering candle,
I followed her footsteps like a blinded stalker.
Blinded by her beauty, love, and grace.
Will I ever see the moon again?

She would tell me to be not afraid,
But to fear that which should not be feared.
Death is but a parting gift, she claimed.
Will I ever see the moon again?

    My wounds grew deep,
My heart felt heavy and waifed.
I lay in a red pool of pain and agony,
Will I ever see the moon again?

    She told me to search,
Search to the ends of the Earth.
As I lay in a red pool of pain and agony, I thought,
Will I ever...see the moon again?

Her soul left me, I am now alone,
    But her words still linger.
Her words which passed over me in waves 'till the end of my days.
Those words...the words that compelled me...to search.

They say there's no such place...as paradise,
You can search to the ends of the Earth...but there's nothing there.
But there's a voice inside me that's calling,
    And it tells me...to search.

Ah, my latest piece. I will not tell you my poem's meaning, I'd like you to figure that out for yourselves. ^_~ But the very last stanza is actually a quote from Wolf's Rain. Those of you who are familiar with that anime know what I'm talking about. ^^ Enjoy!

When I saw the title for this being "Paradise" I thought the meaning would be easy to understand, but this is the type of poetry you have to read over to see what its really about ^^. But from what I can piece together, the chracter's lover passed away, and he's just describing her and her personality as the poem progresses, and I think that the title "Paradise" and to search means that even though there is no such thing as it, you should search and find your own paradise. There, I gave it a shot thats logical in the least ^^'.

Its hard to critique this, as poetry with such deep meaning such as this is hard to critique in itself, but I enjoyed reading it, there was times when I thought diffrent words could have been used but thats just me. Overall, nicely done ^^.

^________^ I'm so glad you liked it, LT! You gave it a great shot. XD This poem symbolizes that when all hope seems lost, and there's no one left to compel you to go on, there is a paradise...somewhere, there is. You just have to believe to be able to find it. Yes, the lover did pass away. The main narrator of the poem is actually a wolf. The lover is a lunar flower (Cheza in Wolf's Rain).

Also, if you didn't get it at first, "a pool of red pain and agony" is symbolizing blood.

OK, I won't farther than I did, thanks very much for reading it, LT. ^//^

    Weee, thanks Rudy!! <3 If you read my explanation for LT, you'll kinda understand this poem more. It's quite confusing. ^^;

Another good one Kelsey ^^ This one was fairly easy to understand for me ^^;This just seems like a poem about moving on no matter what. About not giving up even when things are against you....I think ^^; Good job though.

Yay! You got it, Blue!! XD A lot of people found this one confusing, but I'm glad you understood it so well. ^o^

It is about moving on. Even if all odds are against you, no matter what anyone tells you, hope can be found if you can find the strength within you to keep searching for it. ^_~

Thats a really good poem, Kelsey! You know, even though sometimes poetry may confuse some people, it always has a meaning, even if you are the only one who knows

Thanks Julia! (do you mind if I call you that?) Yes, I do love it when people are able to grasp my poem's meanings. But as long as they enjoyed reading my poem, then that's enough satisfaction for me. ^___^

Awwwwws, thanks Julia. <3 I'm glad you liked it. This poem is my longest one, and also one of my best, if I may say so. ^_____^

nicely done, it has a "mixed message" (i'm a pro at that kind of stuff)
but yeah, it's ironic to see that the title seems so heart-warming when the poem seems to be rather dark IMO.

Thanks KLS. ^_________^ Yes, the title does seem quite inviting, yet once you read the poem, you get a mix of several emotions. It really depends on who is reading the poem, for everyone has different views of a poem's meaning in any form of poetry. ^_~

Awwwwwws, thanks Pokemon Master #1! ^__________^ This one is one of my personal favorites. Mainly because it has a lot to do with my favorite anime, Wolf's Rain. ^^ I'm glad you like it. *glomps*
