5th Gen Parallel Pokemon!

Parallel Pokemon, is you don't know, are pokemon that are very similar to other pokemon. Like Gyarados - Milotic. Both evolve from very week pokemon, and turn out to be powerful, and beautiful pokemon. They both have the same body shape, too, obviously. There's also Muk - Swalot, while Muk is literally a large pile of muck with a face, Swalot, is a bit more structured and detailed, yet still an obvious homeage to his distant cousin, Muk. Hoenn just had oodles of Parallels...Crawdaunt, Beautifuly, Mightyena, Swalot, and Milotic being the most noticeable. (Kingler, Butterfree, Houndoom, Muk, and Gyarados).

And, I have a strange gut feeling that Isshu will follow in Hoenn's path, as I think Shimama may be a parallel to Rapidash once it evolves.

What parallels do you want?

I keep having this strange feeling that Chiramii will evolve into this 30-foot demon chinchilla... it seems strange, but it'd be a lot stronger that its pre-evolved form. A lot.

This would be the parallel to Teddiursa and Ursaring...

What parallels do you want?

As long as they give us new pokemon in the upcoming gen. I'll be happy. I want a parallel for Gengar, although Duskull might already be one, I don't know. And a parallel for Rapidash might be interesting. If Shimama is the parallel for Ponyta, then it would be awesome.

Mamepato = Pidgey
Chiraamii = Buneary
Meguroko = Hippopotas

I do hope we get some more, but not too many, because then it feels like they're just making "cookie cutter" pokemon of the old ones.

And yeah! I was hoping Shimama would be a ponyta counterpart! That'd be great.

That's a good spot. You could say Hihidaruma = Primeape also...? And Munna/Drowzee?

Previous Generation parallels include Aggron/Rhydon, Garchomp/Salamence/Dragonite, Camerupt/Donphan, Seviper/Arbok... There's probably a lot more I can't think of.

In terms of parallels I'd like to see... Absol, Arcanine, Toxicroak, Marowak, maybe even Nidoking/Queen...

I'm thinking Gear and Magnemite. Although it would mean it would need two evolutions to get that. Which would be nice actually.

I actually think Shimama might be a Girafarig parallel and not evolve.

Gastrodon?

Gastrodon is a slug and Lapras is a plesiosaur. Gastrodon also has an extra evolution than Lapras and isn't at all comparable strength or obtainable-wise. Not to mention Gastrodon has two forms.

And to top it off Gastrodon isn't nearly as powerful as Lapras is.
Though I wonder if some of the other new pkmn can be paired w/ some olders ones.

Doryuuzu = Sandslash and/or Dugtrio? Though they aren't alike in anyway design wise.

Desukaan = Mismagius? Idk, that is what I think.

Ononokusu = Garchomp.

This is an interesting theory. I think it's clear about some, like Mamepato = Pidgey = Starly, but I'd agree that Shimama seems more like a parallel to Girafarig than Ponyta.

You know, about the Shimama thing, it's electric type, and Ponyta is fire type. Reshiram and Zekrom are Dragon and Fire, and Dragon and Electric type. So, I think it's entirely possible that Shimama is a Ponyta parallel.

I think Pachirisu was the token Pikachu parallel of Generation 4, and a fail one at that.

Chiramii will appear later in the game... Around Gym 3 and 4 not at the starting town so no it isnt Rattata, Sentret, etc...

Koromori = Zubat as well... Hopefully we have a Tentacool parallel to replace that annoyance... I feel like I forgot an annoyance, but someone will get it...

Tsutaja is obviously a parallel of the Grass starters... Let's try to guess Pokabu and Mijumaru now... Hmm... I'm guessing the Fire and Water starters? Perhaps...?
