Paul VS Silver

Does anyone else think that paul was based off this character or even similar?

They're both pretty similar in a lot of ways. One difference I can think of is that Silver stole his starter from Prof. Elm.

I actually have been thinking that for a long time now. They both basically have the same personality and almost the same body structure and hair style. Just change the color a bit.

Yeah, the look a lot alike but Silver above is still in the original art style. Their outfits are similar too.

Gary IS based on green/blue so Paul is most likely based on Silver since he's the only rival who hadnt appeared in the anime except for the cameo in one jp. opening.

And Silver's new appearance may look like a redhaired paul.

I always had Shinji modeled after the final Frontier guy. I mean, they basically copied everything with his facial structure and hair.

Saying as we all believe that this franchise may return its focus to Johto again maybe we will see Silver in his new appearance. Maybe there will be something like when Paul was in Johto he was rivals with Silver.

Hmm...

If you're thinking about the GSC Silver, then yeah, I see plenty of similarities. Only thing is there isn't anyone in the GSC games that looks up to Silver (as Jun looks up to Paul, in a way).

If you're thinking PokeSpecial, then there are definitely plenty of differences. Silver's reason for stealing his Pokemon is much different, he actually fights on the good side, he's friends with Blue, and he even helps Gold get a Politoed (while getting himself a Kingdra, I believe).

So yeah. Depends on which Silver you're talking about. I'm assuming the game one, but that's besides the point.

I had never noted that, even thought the resemblance is quite big. They could be related. Id like to see that.
