PC needs changes

I know the friendship promotions have been a real problem for a long time, and frankly im sick of it.

Just like back in the old days nobles had their friends appointed the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

It wasn't right and nor is this, so fix these mistakes before a modern day martin luther fixes it in their own way.

Re-evaluate indeed. Fire all the non-blue admins, even. Yes, I know that includes me, but at least that would be an improvement.

I stand by my idea of removing all staff and maybe even community sites that are now dead, I mean how are we going to thrive if half the community sites arent updated or basically closed down?

I can name two excellent sites to replace the old ones :P

Hardly a coincidence, we're gaining way too many mods; or rather, we're overstaffing, if you prefer, for that very reason.

Revise how much power your staff members under Admin/SAdmin hold.

Here is a suggestion,on the number of staff:

Admins 1-2
Preators also 1-2
Global mods(I am sorry if that is the same as Preator,then super mods) 3
Mods each subforum(like arts,gamemaking) should have 1-2,but other forums,fun time in pokeland...shouldn't have any(exept global mods).

I liked the idea of promotion spots, as they prevented overstaffing, but then, should the need arise for a new staff member, that system may very well stand in the way.

Although, in all honesty, members who were promoted just for the sake of it, rather than the fact that a new moderator/smod/whatever was needed are starting to sprout up all over the place.

I know how the system works - pay more mind to the more important things. The problem is that the more important things like promotions are being dubbed as less serious than they should be. I can name at least five people off the top of my head who have been promoted in the last couple of months that shouldn't have been, but let's not get into that.

I just wish you guys would look at all the aspects behind promotions, rather than just considering how good a staff member that person would make. =\ Really, there are a lot of PC members who would make excellent staff, but you can't promote every single one of them.

I quite honestly think PC is going alright, its deffinitly one of the best Pokemon forums around, I know theres been quite alot of arguments, and stupid fights between people, causing alot to get banned. But bringing in other matters that have nothing to do with the forum and are quite honestly annoying, deserves a ban.


All of the administrators are grown up and mature enough to see if somone been promoted to a moderator because of friendship, thats a very stupid and immature statement to make, I personally think the moderators we have at PC are awesome, they do there job, and don't abuse there powers.

You cannot suggest how many moderators/administrators a forum needs, if the owner(s) of PC feel another moderator/admin is in order then im pretty sure its in need of one, there is nothing wrong with the ammount of staff PC have, compared to alot of forums I know its well in order.

Threads like this annoy me so, its happening at many Forums I go to, people thinking they know right, well if we stopped getting into arguments like this then the problems wouldn't arise in the first place.

Ok, here's my opinion on everything.
How many mods have we had to get rid of due to them failing to do their jobs? (with the exception of those who leave for personal reasons).
When we choose moderators, we look through the section that needs a new mods, select individuals that stand out (whether we know them or not), and look through their posts. We cannot predict how they'll be as mods, so we make the best of an informed decision. We can't expect to always be right, but we do things to the best of our ability.
The 'omg! promotions by friendship!' is wrong. We promote people who are loyal to PC and who we believe are active and mature enough to be able to handle problems. We had quite a lot of promotions at one point because we didn't have enough staff to sufficiently handle problems with speed, so we just got them out the way in a small period of time. There are other staff who are worthy of promotions, but who haven't received one due to us not needing any more at present.

Greg had been warned about his signature bashing certain members of staff (even by myself) and always held a negative attitude towards certain staff and PC in his posts. Serious Warning -> Ignored -> Ban, that's the usual method and special treatment won't be given. It was a group decision, not a spontaneous/grude-based one. If you want to see it as something that it wasn't, then that's your decision, not ours. All i can tell you is the truth of what happened :/

I don't know that group of you feel so negatively towards PC..i've seen people perfectly legitimately banned, but then who develop some deep grudge and it really takes over them..

Guys, this is a pokemon forum..we run it the best that we can, we promote when we feel an area needs it, we decide on the best person as far as we can, and we try to keep people happy. When members decide to ignore a warning, they are making an informed decision to risk their membership here. It was them that decided to take the risk, so them being banned as a result was their own doing.
We try to keep people happy, and we wouldn't be here if we didn't enjoy doing that, but we can't always please hundreds of people at once..if you really don't enjoy the place because you seriously believe the staff are 'bias' and ban people out of grudges, and if you don't believe us when we tell you the reasons for how we act, then there's nothing we can do :/

One addition: We do demod staff who are no longer able to do their jobs, and replace them. Why on earth would we want to get rid of all the staff who are doing their jobs well? o.o the only people we demod are those who can no longer do that..

I can see that almost all mods are here.O,and username,we are the weaker here,so protect the weak!!!!!!!!!(O and I don't have any grunge against mods,especially in the home of sprites and game making).

DarkPegasus, how on earth could we survive with so few mods..we don't want to overwork them, they have lives outside of PC and we respect that...that would be selfish to expect them to support PC by themselves..
