Their relationship wouldn't be as deep as it is now...maybe Dawn would gain a crush on Ash if she was in the same situation as Aoi (like Katsu said) but it'd be on really short notice. You can't really develop strong feelings (whether it be friendship, love, hate...) towards somebody in 5-10 episodes. But like I said, their relationship is perfect now. ^^
If Ash and Dawn would ever be in a situation where they might not ever see eachother again, what do you think their last words would be?
Dunno, but it'd be really sad moment though :(
