Percy Jackson Movie!

Ok this is what I think about the movie:

It sucked epicly. They did not do justice to the book at all.

Things I didn't like:

Spoiler:

1) You dont find out that Luke is bad until like the last pages!
2) Percy fights Ares NOT Luke!
3) Minator fight was way long and 100x better!
4) Annabeth: "The Gods aren't allowed to have contact with their children..BS! They do have contact with them because, Annabeth gets her Yankees Baseball Cap of Invisabelty from her mother(which she doesn't have in the movie).
5) Ares is never mentioned(HE IS THE REAL LIGHTNING THEIF)
6) The hellhounds are supposed to be BIGGER!
7) Ares' daughter Claries is NEVER introduced.
8) Annabeth and Percy are on the same team in caputer the flag
9) Claries attacks Percy in capture the flag
10) Percy doesn't find out that who his dad is until the hellhound attacks him in capture the flag, and he lands in the water and a trident appears.
11) THEY NEVER TALKED ABOUT THE BIG PROPHECY!!!!(THIS MADE ME THE MOST MAD!)
12) Percy gets a prophecy, THEN he leaves the camp, in the movie he leaves without permision.
13) Annabeth HATES Percy, in the movie she is already in love with him.
14) She doesn't care for Luke at all(in the book she's all like "Oh Luke is this and that blah blah blah.")
15) Grover wheres the flying shoes NOT Percy, and the shoes are supposed to drag him to tarturus.
16) Cerberaus was not in the movie(the 3-Headed Dog, in the Underworld)
17) Percy NEVER fights the Chimera.
18) Percy gets the pearls from a water nymph sent by his father, when he fall from the building after fighting the Chimera.
19) Percy doesn't go through all those places to get the pearls, he goes through all those places because he needs to get to L.A. which is where the door to the Underworld is.
20) Annabeths hair needed to be blonde, and her eyes grey(even though Annabeth was hot in the movie so I'm ok with that).
21) They didn't talk about "the mist"
22) They didn't explain the whole bronze and silver thing(how Percy's sword,Riptide, is made of bronze which can only hurt "the kindly ones", and Luke's sword, Backbiter, has both bronze and silver which can hurt both humans and "the kindly ones").
23) The Hydra is in the 2nd book NOT the first.

Things I liked:

1) Grover he was really funny, and not pessamistic like in the book lol.
2) The Hydra fight was good(but something i didn't like was,look at #23 above)

All this and the fact that by bumping the ages of the characters up to teens

they destroy the whole point of the prophecy coming to light when Percy turns 16 and makes me wonder how the heck they plan on making sequels (which I hear they want to).

This movie was a HUGE letdown. They destroyed the book. While we were leaving the theater we over heard this 10-11 year old boy telling his parents how wrong the movie was. Now older fans are usually the most critical/picky but even when the kids, who are typically the most forgiving, are disappointed then you know they really messed up. Makes me happy the Potter movies at least make an effort to stay true to the plot/books, even if it can't be perfect (nor should it have to be, that's asking for too much). But I gather they are so close to the book because JKR makes a point to be involved. :/

The movie is good but Percy and Annabeth aren't 12 in the movie.I think there are about 16 years old.I actually saw the movie first and then read the book.

Loved it!
I mean I know people hate how it changes the book but I mean if the movie was made first you guys would hate the book.
Anyway I really loved the movie(AND LOGAN LERMAN!!!). Obviously its way better then Twilight, that horrible, horrible chick flick :)

Um Janitors into Hydra? I perfered the dog turing into it while its owner goes psycopath.Medusa didnt offer to take a picture or food.No Clariesse or Ares.Isnt Percy banned from the skys why didnt he get zapped while mid air.Im not sure but i think Hades wife wasnt in the book.If so she was the replacement for the Chimera.Annabeth wasnt blode nor have blue eyes.What happen to the elevator to the underworld? Seriously they ruined the book,i got so disgusted Im having second thoughts of watching a movie ever again

Have you read the book?
(If that above sounded mean I'm sorry lol, but if you have read the book then you will know most peoples pain...although I do know people that read the book and thought the movie was good, but that was only like 1-2 people)

HOWEVER, I will say that the movie was entertaining in its own right and that, as The Sea of Monsters has been anounced to be released in 2012, I will most likely see that in theaters as well.

On a different note, did anyone else who read the last book think that the ending was not sufficient? I really wish that Mr. Riordan would right at least one more novel about this, even though it is highly unlikely.

I think the ending was perfect, Im mean finaly the war ended all is good because all the minor god's kids will be in the camp, and Percy & Annabeth are together.

Most people know & most people don't know, Rick Riordan IS writing another series with another Prophecy (which was said in the last book) with another main charecter but An, Grover, and Percy will appear sometimes in the books. And yes this was confirmed by Rick Riordan himself
