We're nearing the end of our beta run and as such we're beginning to phase the forum out, for lack of a better term. New threads are no longer being approved (since some people posted them regardless of requesting an invite, which was closed off some time ago). The thread revival clause (allowing thread revivals here) has been removed and threads older than a month old have all been locked.

You can continue to use this forum regularly with the threads remaining until an announcement about the closing date of the forum is made.

Will the thread owner be allowed to request that their thread be unlocked?

Or will they have to make a new thread?

I'm mostly asking this out of curiosity, but when you say "Phasing out", does that mean that this section was successful and that they're removing this for the time being to open a new board to the general memberbase, or did it fail and that they're just going to get rid of it over the next little bit?

Probably the latter because very few of the staff (aka the only people whose opinions matter) liked it staying around.

No. No threads that are locked will be unlocked since the threads that are locked are either official threads, or threads that fall past the one month revival rule. New threads will be deleted since we've closed the forum to new threads.

Phasing out as in this forum is going to be closing. We're still in talks of what we're going to do after, but its pretty evident that this forum will be gone. Our options right now are either scrapping it entirely (which is unlikely, I think) or doing what Alex suggested in the feedback thread and bringing it back after X amount of time for about a month and then archiving it again. We're still tossing discussion around. The reason that I'm phasing it out this way is because I don't want it to be sudden since this forum is active.

Is bumping of our threads still allowed?
I mean, in a way, yeah. You can still bump your thread since the forum will continue to function the same until we announce a date, but I don't think any threads that are active now really qualify for a bump, do they?

Probably the latter because very few of the staff (aka the only people whose opinions matter) liked it staying around.
Actually, it'd be interesting to know that a lot of the higher staff who were against this forum being made actually found it to be surprisingly... not bad, for lack of an adjective.

So we're going to keep this forum, which is why this thread was locked and unstickied. I apologize for posting this prematurely. My intention in posting it was to give everyone a big heads up ahead of time that it was going to happen, because at the time, it looked like it was headed in that direction.
