Every one can modify Wikipedia articles and therefor should not be taken as the ultimate truth.
Here's a news article where students get an F for citing Wikipedia articles:

I could go to Wikipedia and modify the page about the 10th movie saying that that Ash meets up with his Pidgeot and add an image with Ash flying on a Pidgeot. Everyone would think it is real, but in fact it's a trailer-only footage that never was added into the actual movie. Those who saw the actual movie more or less confirmed that Ash never rode a Pidgeot in the actual movie.
Not that I'm saying that Wikipedia is evil or something, I'm just pointing out that there is a remote posibility that the information is inacurate and should be double checked and taken with a grain of salt.
Bulbapedia is more acurate, but even then it's not flawless.
