LOL, I noticed while watching the first 5 seasons over again that Pikachu tends to use what Team Rocket call it, "Pika-speak". For instance, when Pikachu says Ash, he always says, "PikaPi", or when he says Misty he says, "Pikachu-Pi". When Pikachu says Brock he says, "Pika-Chu" and "Pipipi" for Togepi. Did you guys ever notice that, LOL? I even noticed he says, "Pi-Pikachu" whenever they spot Team Rocket! XD I think it gave Pikachu more personality and just made the show cuter!

Yeah, especially with Pikapi and Pipipi, it sounds like Pikachu is trying to mimic their names, which is cute (Pikapi is meant to sound like "Satoshi"). Pikachu also done it to mimic Dawn's "daijoubu" in Japanese, but it's not really so noticeable in the dub since it doesn't sound anything like "No need to worry".

I first heard about it reading in Bulbapedia. It's quite strange. So if Pikachu has a language, do the other Pokemon have it too? I'd like to learn Archeops language :)

I noticed Pika-Pi and Pipipi. I wonder what other words he has.

I know he has "Pikapikapikapika...pikapika!" for Volt Tackle and "Pika-chu!" for Thunderbolt, but I searched through Bulkbapedia and here's what I found.

Yeah, it always made me wonder if Ash's other pokemon were using repetitive poke-speak when talking. i never stopped to realize that, only with pikachu.

    OH AND BTW,

Archeops is my FAVORITE new pokemon from B&W!! Archeops-speak would be soooo awesome! It's sooo pretty, and it gets me through a lot in the game! GO ARCHEOPS!!!!

I don't think the vocalizations when doing moves are the same as language. They're probably more like how a person grunts when they're exerting themselves. Pikachu's probably like the Maria Sharapova of the pokemon world.

Yay! Archeops for the win! GO ARCHEOPS!

I laughed my head off when I read this. You're probably right, but Pikachu's is a more non-annoying version.
