Pirates of the Whirl Islands PG-17

Name: Noxus Lewis

Pokemon species: Cacturne

Gender: Male

Position: Quartermaster

Appearance (Be descriptive or Picture): He's green. Yes, he's still green. What, you want him to be pink? He has a pirate hat on his head, which fits perfectly, covering his dark-green 'hat' on his head with black cloth. The pirate hat was a little too big for his size, so the top bit of his eyes are often covered by it. Maybe it's a mistake from the carpenters. Maybe he does it on purpose so people can't see what he's thinking by looking into his eyes. Therefore when people look at him, his triangular, spiky-tipped hat-like feature on his head is black, since it's protected and covered in a black triangular-like pirate hat. He has a black, half-torn scarf around his neck to match the hat.

Personality (Be descriptive): Noxus's yellow eyes with a black iris are very expressive, and people can easily understand his feelings and plans by just looking into him. It's considered as his weakness, since he can't plot or think about something without being spotted what he's thinking about. While the crew think that he's hat size's a mistake, it's mainly used for blocking the top corner of his eye, so people can't see it completely.

Being the Quartermaster of Revenge of the Seas, he solves problems like this: When two people are arguing/fighting about the same thing, kill them both. It's the easier solution, why bother leaving one alive? Nobody knows the real truth except for the two, and their stories are different. Might as well kill them. It happened. When two crew mates were fighting for a special riffle, Noxus stood between them and killed them both by shooting a pin into their hearts. Swift and deadly. Arguments are not allowed on board, and everybody should be clear when Noxus is around.

Since Genghis Blaek's also a quartermaster (but I've reserved the spot first xD), Noxus doesn't really like him that much, as they have to fight for the best Quartermaster on board. But there aren't really much fighting going on...for now

History (Long and descriptive): People thought that he still has that triangular hat-like feature on his head that's covered by his black pirate hat, like in the appearance sector. But what they don't know is his past. When he was a young pirate, a 'powder monkey' in another pirate ship, he messed up when he was about to fire a cannon, and the cannon exploded, blasting everything near it. He was badly injured, but the medics were quick enough, and he was saved. His green darkish 'hat', however, was lost. Thankfully, his brain was under it, not in it. It was like the hair of a human. The only difference - it won't grow back. The Cacturne has lost his green-triangular 'hat' since then.

Noxus then went to another pirate ship, hoping that the people there wouldn't treat him badly because of his weird appearance. They were just the same. Without the hat, he didn't even look scary. He looked like a joke. A Cacturne without his hat? Nobody looked and talked to him seriously. He was beaten up just because he didn't look normal. His confidence started to vanish, and one day, he was kicked off the ship by walking the plank.

Being bald and discriminated, he left the ship, humiliated until he stumbled upon The Revenge of the Sea. When he got there, he saw that some crew members also had other disabilities, so he was welcomed aboard. The carpenter there managed to make him a a hat that looked like his old, natural one. As stated in the appearance, the hat was one size bigger since he has to cover his expressive eyes, and when people gave him respect, his confidence has returned as well. With his confidence back, he rose, promotion after promotion, proving to everybody that confidence is the key to success. When people asked him about his natural hat, however, he stayed silent. His black scarf's only a decoration, though. xD

Moves (4 moves max): Focus Blast, Poison Jab, Giga Drain, Pin Missle

...oh great Ethan's a Quartermaster too?! Ohhhh, okay, two Quartermasters, fighting to see who's best :)

lol, I don't have many friends that like roleplaying. sorry man!

Reserve a spot for me please, although....

I SO WANNA BE A QUARTERMASTER!!! XD

But anyways....since there is no spot as a quartermaster, I'll be a gunner.

Blazi, I think we can start once Rusty's done. we don't need the whole RP full in order to start. people who are interested will join once it starts

While that, we can place some of the positions with NPC placeholders. We can also use the place holders as redshirts or expendables if anyone is cruel enough.

Name: Kytes Hopkins

Pokemon species: Zoroark

Gender: Male

Position: Gunner

Appearance:
[PokeCommunity.com] Pirates of the Whirl Islands PG-17

Personality: Kytes is a very carefree and happy-go-lucky Pokemon most of the time, but gets serious and cautious if the situation demands it. He is also quite timid, and hates to stay in his Zoroark form. He likes to transform into various other Pokemon, transforming to show his emotions. He hates to battle, and even though he is the gunner, he hasn't come to the ship for the fights, but for the adventure and to see exotic locations.

He is quite strong, and his mental power is very strong too. He is scared of heights, but is able to control his fear because of his self control. He is very determined to reach Whirl Islands, and will do anything to get there. He has also got a vivid imagination, and loves to imagine himself in places where he saves the day, and is the hero. He doesn't like to socialize a lot, but when he makes a friend, he gets quite attached to him/her, and is willing to sacrifice himself for his friends.

History: Kytes was earlier a Zorua who lived in New Bark town as an immigrant from Unova. He was considered rare, both due to his species, and due to his shininess, and was seen as a tourist spot for people all over the world. Due to this, he grew shy, and stayed mostly to himself. He evolved during a fight with a Hitmonlee, who had attacked him during a walk. When he evolved into a Zoroark, he grew shyer still, and started to transform to get rid of the people. He started to become somebody he wasn't, and started staying away from people.

That is when he heard about the treasure of Whirl Islands, he started imagining himself as the famous Pokemon who would get the treasure. He started to feel the yearning for adventure, and his dreams came true when he applied in The Revenge of the Sea, and was accepted as a Gunner.

Moves:Aerial Ace, Flamethrower, Night Slash, ExtraSensory.

rustymenon, you're accepted. Now let's get started.

Toro sat inside the ship in his quarters. He wasn't sure if anyone was going to join or not. His lack of faith in himself was growing as he feared he would never get to venture to the Whirl Islands. Toro stepped outside of his quarters and onto the deck. He climbed the stairs which led to the wheel and he stood by the ships railing.

"I should check to see if anyone signed up," he mumbled as he pulled out his telescope and peered at the ports surroundings.

Toro had left a sign up sheet for the crew outside the local bar. He thought it would draw attention from former sailors but it could also draw the attention of passing drunks. Toro didn't have much faith in this idea, but he was desperate for a crew. He couldn't go looking for the Silver Chest alone.

Once ashore, Toro walked to the New Bark Port pub. He peered down at the sign up sheet that read, "The Revenge of the Sea Crew Roster Sign Up." Toro was shocked to see he had already collected all the positions he wanted except for the two remaining gunner positions.

I can't believe it, Toro thought as he read through the names.

William E. Marshall ~ First Mate
Genghis Blaek ~ Quartermaster
Noxus Lewis ~ Quartermaster
Tonitrus Nox ~ Boatswain
Kytes Hopkins ~ Gunner
Johnathan E. Turner ~ Gunner

Toro had to meet his crew so the first place he checked, the bar.

Name: Johnathan E. Turner

Pokemon species: Gallade

Gender: Male

Position: Gunner

Appearance: Generally, Johnathan looks like any other Gallade. His right arm and right arm-blade are smoky gray, a fairly common trait in Johnathan's lineage. Johnathan typically has cloth wrapped around his hands to help protect them. He has strong arms and legs and is about five feet tall (about a foot shorter than the average Blaziken). One thing that sets Johnathan apart is that enough of his tongue had been cut out to take away the ability to speak.

Personality:
Socially, Johnathan isn't all that great anymore, partly because he can't speak freely. He can communicate telepathically, though, since he's a Psychic. Johnathan won't talk this way freely and almost always keeps his thoughts to himself now. He'll use telepathy when necessary.

Johnathan will obey his captain's orders (usually, depending on the captain) and would be one of the last crew members to mutiny. He can behave himself if the situation calls for it, though he doesn't always. He usually doesn't care much about the weather, unless it hurts the cannons or something like that.

When it comes to cannons, Johnathan would be the one to ask. He knows just about everything there is to know about cannons. Johnathan has an eagle-eye, steady hands, and a calm head for aiming a cannon at something and more often than not hits his targets. His knowledge of swordsmanship is not as well known, partly due to his usual position of gunner.

Johnathan does have a weakness. He sometimes gets carried away during battle and needs to be stopped by someone else when it happens. Forcefully, at times. Johnathan also has a fierce hatred for one particular ship and crew: The Cursed Hydro.

History:
Johnathan was born into a sea-loving family, living in Slateport of Hoenn, that knew plenty about seafaring, cannons, honor, and swordsmanship. One of his older brothers, James, had left home to be a pirate when Johnathan was a little Ralts. Most of the family shunned James for this, but Johnathan began to wonder, as he grew older, just what the life of a pirate would be like. Besides, did James have another reason for leaving? Johnathan pondered on this question as he grew up, learning the specialties of the family (notably cannons and swordsmanship). He learned to speak telepathically while living in Slateport.

One day, when Johnathan was nearly ready to evolve from a Kirlia, Slateport was attacked by pirates led by a cruel Floatzel captain. Several residents of Slateport died. Several others were taken prisoner, Johnathan being one of them. While on the Floatzel's ship, Johnathan said one too many things, and the Floatzel captain ordered the Kirlia kicked off the ship. Johnathan was dumped in a rowboat with only a little fresh-water and a piece of crusty bread and left somewhere in the seas around Hoenn.
Johnathan was unconscious, sunburnt, and parched when his rowboat was found, somewhere between Slateport and Dewford, by a ship and a crew who'd been looking to capture the pirates. He was cared for as best as the crew could while they headed back to Slateport, where Johnathan received proper treatment.

Going back to his normal life wasn't enough. Johnathan wanted to strike back, though he wasn't sure why. So, in the middle of a cool summer night, he snuck into his family's storage and packed some seafaring essentials for leaving. While doing so, he came upon a light-blue stone that was hidden in a box. As Johnathan picked the stone up, he could feel the same kind of energy that he'd felt while evolving from a Ralts. It was a Gallade that left his home that night. Early the next morning, Johnathan found a ship, named Seeker, that was under the command of a reputed pirate-fighter. He signed up to be in the crew and received the position of gunner.

As the days passed and they chased pirates all the way to Johto, Johnathan learned more of what it meant to live at sea. He also gained a reputation as a proficient gunner who could sink many of his targets and learned several legends and tales, at least one of which concerned the Silver Chest.
When the Seeker caught up to the pirates they'd been chasing, Johnathan found that he had his shot at revenge: It was the Floatzel pirate captain. The sea-battle that erupted between the Seeker and the pirates was fierce; afterwards, Johnathan wasn't sure how many times he'd fired a cannon.
After the Floatzel pirate captain had been turned over to the authorities, Johnathan couldn't settle on land. He'd acquired a yearning to take to the sea. He stayed on the Seeker for several more months before it was boarded by pirates and he was pressganged into sailing under a pirate captain. Johnathan went through several more sea-battles and always ended up on the winners' ship.

A few months after being pressganged by pirates, Johnathan was rescued by James, his brother and one of the more respectable pirate captains around Johto. During the few months on board James' ship, he taught Johnathan more about sword-fighting.
James, too, was searching for the famed Silver Chest, and he literally lost his life in the search. The Cursed Hydro attacked and boarded James' ship. Johnathan was somehow forced into a position in which he had his tongue cut out. James was able to protect his younger brother from anything else and hid Johnathan before being killed himself.

If James' ship, which had been ruined beyond repair, hadn't been found by another ship, then Johnathan would've died of starvation or thirst. Or both. He was found and taken to New Bark Port, where he rested and recovered at an inn for a while. When Johnathan heard of a captain looking for a crew to search for the Silver Chest, he immediately made any seafaring preparations he could.
After all, as Johnathan had personally learned, if one searches for the Silver Chest, then one will eventually run into The Cursed Hydro. Revenge was on the mind.

Moves: Leaf Blade, Teleport, ThunderPunch, Psycho Cut

Noxus sat at a dark corner in the bar, drinking whiskey from a glass mug, observing everybody's actions. Nobody wanted him here anyway. His eyes glanced upwards and he sighed. The 'hat' wasn't growing back, and he was so hideous without his natural 'hat' on his head. A scarecrow pokemon without a hat. Pathetic.

Spotting an abandoned straw hat at the next table, he whistled casually, his hands reaching for the hat, and quickly placed it on his head. It'll have to do for now. The 'hat' wasn't going to grow back, neither will his confidence. The captain of the ship Revenge of the Seas wouldn't let him join anyways. Finishing his cup of whiskey, his raised an eyebrow as he saw a Blaziken walking into the bar. If memory served him right, it was him who posted the poster on the wall. Maybe he was the captain or something.

Still not saying a word, he sat there and waited. Yes, the straw hat'll have to do.

(sorry short post I gotta go)

Kytes was excited.

He had finally been accepted in Toro's Crew. Now the only thing left for him was to roam the seas.

Since he was excited today,he had transformed into a Grovyle. He walked inside casually, searching the place for some friendly person. He could see his captain, Toro, but was afraid to start a conversation. He searched for a chair, and saw one near a Cacturne.
He saw him drinking whiskey, and then picking up a straw hat and placing it on his head. He went up to his table, and sat on the chair. He remained quite for some time, and then, without making eye contact, asked the Cacturne, "Y-you're Noxus Lewis, aren't you?"

William Edgar Marshall had earned his nickname as "The Commodore" mostly in part of his accent, but also because of the way he is able to command successfully as if he was trained by the Navy. If people weren't mistaken, they'd say he was in the Navy, or has been. But he never was, and no one knows where he received such an education on piracy. Whatever the case, Will is an imposing pirate.

There he sat, in the pub of the New Bark Port, wondering what his new crew will be like. From what he could gather, the Captain was daring, or he wouldn't be going after the Silver Chest, the ultimate prize of the sea. How he managed to gather a crew of scallywags to go on this adventure was beyond Will's comprehension, but it was just the opportunity Will needed. With the Silver Chest, Will would get what he wanted: gold, fame, glory.

Will sat at the pub, drinking. He looked around the room. There were so many pirates, that Will couldn't help but feel comfortable. These were his kind of Pokemon. For all Will knew, the crew was here. They likely were, but Will only knew the Captain's name, not his face. He sighed and drank his drink. Most likely, they will be here eventually. All "The Commodore" had to do was wait, because soon, he would be on his great journey, his greatest adventure ever.

Garet, you're accepted.

Toro stood in the doorway of the pub. He needed to find his crew so he could set sail as soon as possible. The problem was, he wasn't quiet sure who his crew was other than their names.

"To all those who signed up for The Revenge of the Sea crew, pack up now and head to the ship. We're setting sail," Toro called to all those within the bar.

The bar stood quiet. Toro paced around the bar to try and find his crew. Suddenly, Toro bumped into a Machamp who was drinking some rum. Our impact made him drop the bottle which angered him.

"MY RUM!" he exclaimed to Toro in a deep voice. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU BIRD BOY!"

The Machamp swung a punch at Toro which Toro swiftly dodged. Toro gripped one of his arms and swung him into a wooden table which made it shattered. Toro then used DynamicPunch on the Machamp which knocked him out cold.

"My name is Captain Toro Blaze," Toro told the knocked out body of the Machamp.

"I'm heading out, all those who signed up should follow," Toro told the rest of the bar before exiting.

Noxus wasn't paying attention, and he only saw him when he asked a question.

"Y-you're Noxus Lewis, aren't you?" It was a Zoroark. And he was oddly coloured. Noxus had never seen Shinies in his life, so he presumed that he was as strange as he was. Noxus tilted his head, letting the hat slide a little backwards so he could see him properly.

"Aye, yes I am. Who wants to know?" Noxus looked right into the Zoroark's eyes, then glanced around to see if someone was spying on him. Just then there was a loud bang and he saw a Blaziken and a Machamp fighting. With a few punches, the Machamp went out cold. He wasn't really interested, but when the Blaziken said his name, he stood up. He was the caption.

"Toro Blaze!" Noxus called, shouting across the bar, but he vanished before Noxus could say anything. The bartender looked at Noxus with murderous eyes and shoved the body aside, "Since you know the Blaziken, You're gonna pay for the damage, you no-good rotten thorn-bodied punching ba-"

"Eh, shut up." Noxus growled, shooting a pin missle through the Bartender's heart, causing the bartender to stumble back. He crashed onto the ground and was totally motionless. Getting up from the table he chased the Captain, following from behind

"Huh?" Kytes exclaimed.

How did Noxus know he was a Zoroark? Moreover, how did he know he was shiny?

But Kytes didn't have any time to ask. He saw his new Captain smash a Machoke into a table, and announce "I'm heading out, all those who signed up should follow,".

Noxus followed Toro, and Kytes followed Noxus outside, into the sunlight.

(OOC: Ok, my future posts will be longer, these were short because I didn't have much to say, and I needed to just say that I followed you out.)

William Marshall sat next to the bartender, enjoying his drink, when out of nowhere, a Blaziken came bursting in.

"To all those who signed up for The Revenge of the Sea crew, pack up now and head to the ship. We're setting sail,".

At first, everyone around was quiet. This told William that he was at least know. He sighed a bit in relief. At least he wasn't joining a Rookie Captain. That was probably his worst fear. Relieved, he began finishing up his drink to prepare to leave. He watched the Blaziken as he made his way around the pub, and ended up getting in an entanglement with a Machamp. He handled him pretty easily, to which Will smiled.

So this was Captain Toro Blaze, he thought to himself, brash and impulsive, but also strong. He should be fine.

William liked trying to figure out people by their actions and their mannerisms. He had been doing so since he was little. Analyzing the Captain, he learned a few things. First, he was strong, which was definantely a plus. Second, he was a bit brash and impulsive, acting on instinct instead of secrecy. This is both good and bad, but William found himself liking the man.

Suddenly, a Cacturne got up as well and followed the Captain outside. Followed by a Zoroark.

So that scallywag is in the crew too, eh? So is the Zoroark...his thoughts trailed off for a second, before he composed himself and finished his drink. He smiled and took out a few coins and placed them in front of the bartender.

"For your troubles, matey. Keep the change as payment for the damage." The bartender nodded to the Wartortle and smiled.

"Always a pleasure, Commodore."

With that, William
followed the others outside.
