4th Gen Pkmn HG&SS for DS or DSi?

I need a new DS anyway, so either way I won't mind. I've still got the original DS and part of the hinge that keeps the two parts together has broken.

I'd love to see an extra floor in the Casino where all the DSi-only minigames are. It'd also be pretty cool if Nintendo started making add-ons for games that could be downloaded off the Nintendo Shop.

I doubt that the games will only be for the DSi system. While there are some new functions on the DSi that could be taken advantage of in these games, I don't think that there would be enough special functions to make them only for the DSi. Besides that, I haven't heard of any other games that are exclusive to the DSi system and I really don't want to buy a DSi since they're so expensive and I'm pretty happy with my regular DS system.

dsi

i hope it has dsi feature that would be cool

Please don't encourage stuff like that..
What if some Game Freak higher-up is reading this thread right now
and has a change of heart!?

DSi exclusive? no. Maybe some new apps for the pokegear
that are exclusive, but that's about it. Please. Don't let
your fans suffer just because they aren't Bill Gates.

But factually, I think it would make more sense if it wasn't
system-based. Pokemon D/P Barely had touch screen use,
Platinum added some Touch Screen mini-games in Wi-Fi Plaza,
HG/SS will probably have more touch screen.. But hopefully no
exclusive features. Think about it this way.

DSp = GBA
DSl = GBAsp
DSi = GameBoy Micro

There wasn't any exclusive features that were system-based, now
were there?

But Nintendo have already said that most DS games will have DSi exclusive features (note they did not say HG/SS will have but that most will) it's like with the GB and GBC there was:
GB carts (such as Red Blue & Yellow)
GBC enhanced carts (such as Gold & Silver)
& GBC exclusive carts (such as Crystal)
The GB and GBC enhanced carts worked on both GameBoy and GameBoy Color, where as GBC exclusive worked only on GameBoy Color.

Besides if there are DSi exclusive features, i think we'll see the Camera serve a similar purpose to what the GB/GBC camera did in G/S/C, and maybe a special Pokegear app that lets you listen to music stored on your SD card.

I'm in agreement with the idea of these games being DSi-enhanced games. They may end up having some features that take advantage of the DSi's features, but I think they'll still work with older DS models.

I like to think of these games in the same way as the game "Link's Awakening DX" for the Game Boy Color. That game had an extra dungeon that could only be accessed when playing the game on a Game Boy Color (Game Boy Advance worked as well). However, the game was compatible with the older Game Boy models - you just weren't able to access that extra dungeon. Hopefully, HG and SS will have the same sort of idea - I wouldn't mind missing out on DSi-exclusive features, as long as the games still worked on my DS Lite.

Frankly, I'm not too keen on buying a DSi just for this game. My DS Lite isn't even two years old, and I don't especially want it to turn into a dust-collector.

it would work for both im pretty sure they wont make a game that will work only on the dsi they will lose money

Most likely the regular DS. If it is made with the DSi features included, then those new features probably won't be available in the older DS and DS lite, but still playable.

If they put this game for the DSi they'll be taking a large risk even if all of us fans want the game.

They won't be stupid, so they'll sell this game through the DS game system.

It will be for DS, there is A LOT of people with DS Lites, for the features like the gba slot, they would not risk because of the DSi.

EXACTLY!
They know the majority of the sales are in DSl and no DSi.
They even admitted DSi was more of an expansion to the DS
and wasn't meant to combat it's sales. They said it's to finally
convince the people who are on the fence about a DS, having
extra features like music and stuff (even though a flash cart
could do all the DSi Features excluding the Camera, and more).

If they DO intend on using DSi exclusive features, please don't add in
special areas specifically for the DSi users.. please. It's just not fair.
I'd be "whatever" if they had some special pokemon in some areas
for the DSi, but I will be totally pissed if they make certain areas in
the game for DSi users, or you get to receive special pokemon such as
Extreme Speed Dratini only if you have a DSi, or you can purchas Shiny
Pokemon with the DSi download.

Please Game Freak! DO NOT MAKE IT DSi ORIENTED!
C'mon, Pokemon just started using the touch screen and you want
it to adapt to the risky conditions of the DSi sales? That's a joke!
The only DSi feature that would make sense is take out Migration,
seeing as the DSi has no GBA Slot. But if they took that out, anger will
rise, since majority of the people DO have DSl's.

Well, the touch screen on my blue DS doesn't work anymore. (I don't know how since I never attacked the screen.) I'm currently using my brother's DS Lite for my Platinum. If it is for DSi, hopefully I can get it, and HG/SS. I'd rather have HG or SS for Nintendo DS, though. I don't want to spend more money on a DSi when it doesn't even have the Gameboy Slot. [It should be cheaper than the DS. I don't care that it's more sleek or whatever.] Hopefully it's for DS, but if it's not, it's an excuse for me to get a DSi, because I can't use the touch screen on my DS anymore.

I guess it will have some DSi features if you have it, but I really hope it works for the normal DS, the same way G/S worked for the old Game Boy as well as for the GBC.

I guess we'll know soon, anyways.

I agree with that.

Plus, if they're released only for DSi.. Nintendo will have a lot of angry fans. Not to the mention that it will hurt the game sales until all the fans can somehow get a hold of a DSi. nn;

It will probably be like those old GB games that were specially made so they get certain enhancements when you played them on a GBC. You can play it on a regular DS, but you get random gimmicky goodies if you play it on a DSi.

REMAKE!! Yay!

First of all:

OMG YAY! A remake of gold and silver!!! =D =D =D =D
I knew it would come ever since they remade red and green, but I thought it would take years.
I'm soooo gonna get it when it's out for sale, maybe even import it from america =D (cos Europe is always slow with those things).

And then, I thought the DS and DSI played the same games, I don't think there even are DSI games. As far as I know, the DSI is just another version of the DS. Something Nintendo wants to make money with (DS, DS Lite, DSI.. where does it end??), just like the gameboy advance micro.

Not only that, but they worked on the old DS' (Not the "lite's" but the first, silver chunky DS') So basically, they worked on the next two consoles.. (GBA, DS).

I wouldn't doubt it will work for the DS lite and DSi, I mean then the game would lose some money, since not everyone would be able to buy it, if it were that case.
