    Wow....this sucks....Just kidding man ;)
I actually really like the idea and I like how it has a complicated plot. I also isn't the same old you wake up, go get a pokémon, and then start your adventure. I do have one question though. What is the main character going to be?

digimon, yu gi oh ideas in there

@Denali ~ Yeah, I see. I'll post more info now.
@davidthefat ~ No, I came up with all this by myself, no digimon or yugioh.

Quiet Again. Also, UPDATE! I put in the storyline and features. Like'em? We came up with most of this stuff in a month or so, so no stealy! You know, part of my own job is to keep the thread active, so that more people will read it. And that it doesn't get deleted, Lol.

Also, the names for the Pokemon, towns and landmarks will be in many different languages, so that we never run out of names.

    And so, remember to C-O-M-M-E-N-T!

I told you before. No. No. No. No. It sucks, and this game must be perfect, however, I'll consider it one last time..... No promises, okay?

Also, Update! Put in the storyline and features post if you like'em or hate'em. Or give me a suggestion. Thanks.

How about you get the game engine going before worrying about the story or plot?

...Hm! I like this... it's kind of cliche-rich, but you do some interesting things with it, and it looks like you've given a lot of thought to it, which is nice. I hope you have more to the story than just the introduction, though. (what irritates me is the tendency for people to create counterparts to Arceus, or Pokemon more powerful than Arceus, and make Arceus catchable... *sigh*)

davidthefat is kind of right; while I think that you're doing the right thing in planning it out beforehand, now is the time that you should get your engine and begin the tough process of actually programming the game. A lot of these features seem like they are going to require more advanced scripting than the starter kit allows, in which case I would recommend that you start learning how to use your engine now, or at least find a scripter.

Meh, you're right. We'll start the programming AFTER we finish all of the other stuff beforehand.

    UPDATE!

The Application Form is being put up right now, so for those looking to join our group, here's you chance!

Ok here is my advice, You shouldn't try to do so much, everyone always makes games with so much features and such high hopes... 500-1000 pokemon are you serious, why not use the official pokemon and only use 2 regions worth, like KANTO & SHINNOH... The story is good, and it leaves much room for plot twists and what not for later in the game. May I suggest keep your features believeable and do able. Dont make these things and features if you dont have the resources. ThATS what alot of people do and make the game too far outta reach from their skills...

The double screen, this idea is getting old fast cause everyone wants it, but they cannot make one.

16 badges, well thats okay I guess but once again your making some massive region. You see the official games as newer ones came out never changed much, yet millions of people bought and played them. So as you see simplicity can go very far, making your game the biggest isn't gonna make people like it.

Well I think thats all I have to say, Although i'll admit there is alot more I can say but I have to go, good luck with this though...

Okay, I thinks it's time to explain.

I'm very serious about the 500-1000 Pokemon, and I already have 50 very good, and the basis of the story is the Other Universe, not ours, and the DS maybe not happening.

The Pokemon games are basically for kids, teens only play it because they like Pokemon or bored. This game is mostly mystery/fantasy/thriller, so it's up there with real games like inFamous.

This isn't a region, mind you, but the WHOLE planet of Gaia. This game is different then most, this is a catch'em all, but also save the Universe.

I'll explain: Once you beat the Deck's plans, and beat the game, then the 2nd storyline begins. Then after you beat that, You're done. The time estimated maybe from like 3 weeks to 6 months(yeah, it's long).

So if other people want to still catch'em all, fine, don't help. I'm looking from 5 months from now, and what me and my team need to do. I want this thing to get the attention of serious gamers, like those who played Batman: Arkham Asylum, Lord of the Rings, the bunch. Sorry if I sound mad, but I hate it when people think this is a re-make of the old Pokemon games. Back when I was making my first games, yes, I wanted a catch'em all, but now I've learned that doesn't gather much attention. Thanks for at least giving me criticism, but that's not the game. Preview 2 will come out in March-May, with more storyline and maybe a map.

Sounds too overwhelming. Both for the player and the developer. I personally wouldn't like to play a game which is just "first walk here, and then go here" and so for 5 months. I'd get bored real quickly, and others would too. This is just one more of the "I'm going to make a stupendously huge game" project. 500-1000 pokemon and you only have 50 new ones. Good luck trying to achieve that, it won't happen that likely. Plus you'll eventually run out of ideas for the Fakemon and then what? You're going to repeat the Pokemon but in different colors? I'm sorry but the massive size of this project just puts me off. It's one thing imagining all these things, but an entirely different thing executing them. Making two regions is already hard enough and presents enough material for the player to go through. But common 9 regions (continents) plus 4 moons, I hope you can map.

Like I said previously, it's just too ambitious. My advice would be just to finish a small segment of your ideas, one region first. Then distribute it, see how it goes amongst the crowd, and then decide if you want to continue with the massive rest of the project. Oh and it's funny to see how all of a sudden everybody wishes of the Dual Screen system. If you can do it go for it. But it's not just one script that you have to do and that's it. Most people don't understand that....I should know.

    We'll see about your advice......

lol, He said the same thing as me almost, but I guess it made more sense coming from him... But from your reply to me it sounds like you want to create a game that can rival pokemon and other professionally built games. If then create a whole new game, why base your game off pokemon? You seem to have an incredable imagination, use that to create your own game series. Most people dont play fan games longer than an hour, cause it usually gets boring. But a new game, a new adventure they havent experienced yet now everyone will play the entire thing if it keeps them glued to their seat. Most professional games dont have more than 48-72 hours of gameplay, it just takes some longer to finish it than others depending on their skilll level. I myself bought, beat and returned arkham asylum in 12 hours. Well anyways thats my input take it or leave it.

Oh and FYI the old games were catch em' all and save the universe, for example, TEAM Rocket, TEAM Aqua & TEAM Magma, ect. wanted to catch the legendary pokemon and rule the world the way they wanted it.
