I went to the one in Phoenix. But everything got ****ed up on the way there. I live about 2 hours north of Phoenix, so me and my friends made sure to leave early.About a quarter of the way there, traffic came to a halt because of a wildfire along the interstate. It wasn't very big, but it was enough to delay us for about an hour and a half. By the time we got there, it was 2 o'clock and registration ended at 1:30. So we were pissed off about that. But there was a "king of the hill" match setup for those who didn't register. So we waited in line for that for 2 hours, only to be the next to play and have the game shutdown because the tournament was over and they had to pack everything up. Sigh. And I worked so hard on my team for it. At least I connected to 8 pokewalkers and battled one guy. I won too, w00t.

Anyway sorry for my story. But yeah just check the regulations on the pokemon vgc website at https://www.pokemonvgc.com

That sounds like one of the worst days ever.

I want to go to the one in arlington((between dallas and fort worth texas..)) it's only like 20 minutes from me but i have no way to get there :/

Three days after my finals end, I'm going to the Newark tournament.

From what I understand, the tourney goes like this:

    • Registration begins at 1:00 and ends at 1:30. There are 768 slots available for competitors.
    • Matches in the regional tournaments are in double battle format. Four to six Pokemon per team, four Pokemon in battle (save for the banned Pokemon (Just about any event Pokemon)
    • There is no time limit per match, though the staff wants the matches to be over ASAP. I feel sorry for those people with stall teams.
    • It is single elimination. Lose once (and lose means either have all four of your Pokemon KO'd or by hitting "Run" accidentally or not) and you're out.
    • Winner gets a DSi and a chance to go to the Nationals (or for non US players, a chance to go to the world championship)

    So... yeah.

How bad is the Pokemon VGC?

Hey. Last year at the VGC, you had to be randomly selected to get in. With my luck, I didn't get in. (-.-) Anyway, I was wondering, since they are doing a "first come first serve" thingy, how bad do you think the line will be? Should I be there at 1pm, or more at like 12:00 pm? I'm going to the Dallas, TX one and I was just wondering what a good time would be to get there. Really need people who have already been to the previous regionals to answer! :)

Anyone here been to a regional tournament already?
