Play pokemon fangames from a CD/DVD

So I have a question about something I want to know if take all the files from a pokemon fan game and burn it to a CD/DVD could i play the game from it to save space on my hard drive if so how because I did it to a game I have and it lags from time to time.

I mean you could just put the game and all the files on a flash drive...

So i read over the page and there's nothing on rpg maker xp about making a game disc it says compress game data.

So compress the game data and put the resulting files onto a disk. It's not difficult.
