    Sup PC,

So I played gold when it was released in 02, my first ever pokemon game. I wanna try crystal before I try a heartgold rom hack i have to see if it feels any different. Advice on what i should look out for and the teams? Strats are different versus gen 4.

Gen 2 is very easy, so I wouldn't worry all too much. There aren't much changes from Crystal. Although, Ho-Oh cannot be caught until Raikou, Entei, and Suicune are all caught. Which is annoying. Also you get an Odd Egg that has a 5% of a shiny. You also can't find alot of Pokemon so if you want to catch them all you're going to need a friend with G/S or use the coin case glitch. Heres a list of Pokemon that can't be caught in Crystal. Vulpix, Ninetails, Mankey, primeape, Mareep, Flaffy, Ampharos, Girafig, Remoraid, and Octillery. That's not even counting the Gen 1.

Although, have fun with the game. It's an all around improved version of Pokemon Gold and Silver. More story, more characters, more things to do, events, animated sprites, etc.

    Have fun!

I loved playing Crystal even after I had played HeartGold and other "more advanced" games, so you should enjoy it as well even if you play HG before. It has its own charm to it, I think :) The animated sprites are also really nice.

So i played hg last summer so thats still fresh in my mind. I thought crystal would have the most pokemon since it was the third installment on the gen? I remember in gold ho-oh when caught had sacred fire but lugia didn't have aeroblast because being level 70. I hear in crystal they are both level 60, do they have access to their respective signature move?

Crystal is a great game. There are a few differences (as already mentioned) - one other one is there are more spinners in C so if you are doing any speedrun attempts it's faster than Silver or Gold.

For casual play it's awesome. I really like the Suicune story. This is my fav pokémon game of all time.
