4th Gen please I need help!

    I am trying to get a light ball. I have heard pikachu can sometimes be holding one, but can you buy them at shops or somewhere in a town or route? I have bet the game and have the national dex so I can go anywhere... If you answer it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

    If you are wondering why I want a light ball it is for breeding purposes.

    There's a 5% chance a wild pikachu holds the Light Ball... Pichus might hold it too, but that I'm unsure of. I'm not one with the Pikachu family.
     
    Only Pikachus hold the Light Ball. If you are looking for one, I suggest having a pokemon with the ability Frisk (it shows what the pokemon is holding) so you don't have to waste a bunch of pokeballs on a bunch of Pikachus.
     
    thanks a lot. I have been using thief on pikachus and pichus but it hasnt been getting the item the want. Im not already holding an item either. Thanks for the help. Which pokemon has the ability frisk?
     
    I use Banette for Frisk since I caught it at LV 51 or something like that so it won't be beaten
     
    Right thanks. I think i will do a check on the pokemon in my pc already for anything that might help and I will check any others that have frisk. Im going to use frisk, and if it says the pokemon is holding a light ball I will be a thief and then of to the day care I go.. and then I hopefully will have a pichu with volt tackle. Thanks for helping.
     
    here's a tip to find Light Balls (or any rare Items, for that matter)

    have a Pokemon with Compound Eyes at the laed of your party.
    when engaged in battle with Pikachuu, switch to a Pokemon with Frisk, if it has the item, steal it, or catch the Pikachuu.
    if it doesn't have an item, run
     
    This is answered in the FAQ. They are only held by wild Pikachu. An easy way is to catch an Illumise in Route 230 (or one of them) who knows Covet. Then you have it use Covet on all Pikachu you see.
