Hi, I'm playing Sapphire and just caught Plusle. Now I consider myself reasonably good at Pokemon, but I've only played R/B/Y, G/S and Fire Red so don't know about Generation III Pokemon. I need an electric Pokemon and the only other option at the moment is Eletrike. Is Plusle any good? It seems to have a decent HP stat but poor defence and doesn't evolve. I know it learns Spark at Level 17 so hopefully that will make it better. Here is my current squad having just arrived in Mauville

    Marshtomp Lv.19
    Plusle Lv.15
    Sableye Lv.16
    Oddish Lv.16
    Taillow Lv.16
    Ralts Lv.17

So, is it worth training Plusle or is it too weak? Are there any other options or is it useful for a few more levels in the meantime?

i dont know ive never actually trained Plusle but id say Electrike is better :)

Yah, You Should Choose Electrike Because It Has Awesome Speed Compared To Plusle And It Has A Better Ability, Static.

Hmm okay. Well I'm persevering with it for now as I've raised it a few levels.

Ever faced a tricky one? I faced a Minun and Plusle in a dual battle and I noticed I wasn't doing mutch damage to them, admittedly with Quick Attack and Cut but they didn't do much to me either.

Plusle is alright to use but if u r aiming for power Electrike would be the better choice to use, seen as it is faster and has the ability static, though i have used a Plusle yeah it has low defence it can be helpful in sticky situations.

It doesn't depend on the Pokemon, it depends on the trainer. Well, I guess that's just my way of seeing it (you don't hafta listen to me!). If you wanna go with Electrike, go ahead, I did and it turned out great, 'specially after it evolved, but you can go ahead and do what you want.

I would suggest electrike, however Plusle isn't that bad. Whichever one you choose, the results won't be that different anyway, just electrike evolves. You could easily get through the game with a plusle or a minun. Either way, I wish you good luck!

im sorry but i would use neither electric pokemon in R/S/E there not that good i have done the whole game without an electric pokemon so it is all just up to

I agree, if ur aiming for power than use electrike but I trained a plusle and it did WONDERFUL! :D

I always went with Electrike. He evolves at a certain point, so his stats (obviously) raise after the evolution.

Plusle is a decent Pokemon, though. I beat Ruby with a Plusle in my party. So, he isn't useless or anything like that. My opinion has always been it's the trainer and not the Pokemon. :]]

both pokemon are fine, and any pokemon can win "in-game" it's basically ur personal preferance...I've used minun in ruby and it was exceptionally well!!! I also used electrike before and it did pretty well also...

    so it is ur choice...

It is all down to your personal preference :S

Other Electric Pokemon are Magneton and Electrode and they are pretty good too! (Electrode has very high speed and Magneton is dual Steel and Electric) Personally, I'd choose Manectric, Magneton or Electode over Plusle/Minun but then again, i have never raised a Minun or a Plusly so i'm kinda bias :\

    Anyway, its your choice :D

Plusle is good enough to get through the game itself, but overall it's not that good compared to the Electrike or its evolved form, Manectric.

Use whatever you want, but a Manectric with a Rain Dance/Thunder combo is amazing against all foes throughout the entire game. Good luck.

Neither Pluse/Minun or Manectric are of any use. If you are an amateur that only plays against the in-game AI then ANY Pokemon will do. If you want a quality Pokemon that can help you in competitive battles or the Battle Frontier, Gardevoir with Thunderbolt is a much better choice. After that I would use Magneton or Jolteon.

I would use Electrike because its evolution makes it stronger. Your best bet would probably be a calm minding Gardevoir with thunderbolt, though.

I've never trained a plusle before, but go for electrike!
