Poem Of The Week 2
CompetitionIntroduction
Welcome to the Poem Of The Week 2. Hosted by myself and Astinus. The previous contest was held and hosted by Come Clarity and the crew. Now let me explain what this competition is all about. This competition is for those who wish to enter their poems which comply with the corrosponding theme, so that they can have some recognition for their amazing talent! , Remember that the Moderator of this section will be supervising. However I will be looking for some help in judging in the near future. If you are interested in helping, Pm me and state why you would like to judge and we can work something out. If you win Poem Of The Week, you will win an emblem (see below) and will be given right away if you win the week's competition.
Poem of the Week is a great to test your skills in the poetry world. You'll also get to see what other people think of how you express your emotions using words.
Remember to follow all Other Writing and PokeCommunity rules as posted below.
Rules and Guidelines
- Remember to keep within the Writing rules, the Poem of the Week rules and of course the PC forum wide rules. Also make sure that you post your poem within the timeline which is posted within the "This Week's Details" box.
- First and foremost, NEVER plagiarize work. I will know; I check all poems, even for lyrics. I understand there may be coincidences where your poetry looks like someone else's and that's fine, but make sure it's all your own work.
- You may only post 1 poem relevant to the given theme of the week. If the theme is "anything" just feel free to post any type of poem, with any theme.
- Please only post good feedback on other entries within this thread. By feedback I mean good comments on why you like them rather than full criticism. But it's always nice to post in the thread of the original poem too (if there is one).
- When submitting a poem either post a link to the thread that hosts the poem (must be on PC) or post the poem within the thread, and I will put it up on the first post with the others.
- This is a judging contest, there will be no votes. HOWEVER you may Pm me if you would like to express your love for a particular poem and I will take it into consideration.
- You may post to state that you will be posting a poem and entering. Asking questions and the likes is also fine, all discussion may go within the thread.
- If you are posting a poem please keep it nicely layed out with as little formatting as possible. It's better we don't have big bright text and numerous BB codes. It just makes it a little easier on the eyes, thank you.
I would also like to state that, if you win POTW, you are given the option to co-host the next competition as well as choose the new theme.

To be in love is a wonderful thing,
With happiness and joy, kindness and giving,
Only ending with the world, past that still
Going on and on, only by will.
To be in love makes you sing a song,
A song of joy to be with whom you belong,
Through this life and past that too
With a single person, love will brew.
Through the darkest storms and brightest days,
Love is the meaning behind everyone's ways.
Through love only can a life be finished,
Nothing can interfere, be it fate or wish.
Through the years and many more,
Love gets only stronger, each other you adore.
To always be with someone; the meaning thereof
The joys and hopes of something called love.
Morning by Galatea
Mornings
In the early morning when the air was blue
I crossed the wet field between our two homes,
tearing holes in my knees on barbed wire fences,
and left a pebble on her windowsill.
The next day it was a blackened copper penny,
then a bottle cap, the minute hand from a clock,
a tiny magnet, the knot cut from a piece of string,
and fallen leaves still damp with dew.
I warmed my cold gloveless hands under my arms
watching a seagull fly overhead, waiting,
the taste of salt and grass in the air.
This morning I'll stay when the window opens.

Life is present everywhere,
In shining stars of the midnight sky,
In quiet nights of a solitary forest,
In babbling brooks o'er cold earth,
In droplets of rain from the vast sky,
Life is present everywhere,
Sacred is everything. Divine is all.
A quiet night in a solitary forest,
Merry Meet and Blessed Be,
Droplets of rain from the vast sky,
The Mother and Father is in us all,
Sacred is everything. Divine is all.
Shining stars in a midnight sky,
Merry Meet and Blessed Be,
Babbling brooks o'er cold earth,
The Mother and Father are in us all.

Waiting on answers
How lofty are your limbs that tower over me?
How subtle are your tears that fall into the sea?
What secrets do you whisper in your howling breath?
What anger do you hold in your stone covered chest?
Will your waves ever cease to stop?
Will your fields ever cease to grow?
All these questions I ask because I do not know.
All these questions I ponder until you tell me so.

A dying sun
Sinks toward the horizon
Staining the clouds
Blood-red
On our little hill
The wind is blowing gently
Rippling the long grass
In waves
The falling sun
Kisses the horizon softly
And there is beauty
In life
I am just happy
To be here right now
Watching the sunset
With you

The Pokémon of Bliss
Written by: TJgamer
Ever had the feeling of doubt,
That all things are against you,
Causing you to sit around and pout?
There's a Pokémon who can aid,
Who can really brighten your spirits,
So relax and don't be afraid.
She will have kindness to share,
It rests in its little pouch,
An egg it will best prepare.
Once she senses how sad you feel,
It will hand the egg over to you,
For it will make a pleasant meal.
Now just take one bite from her gift,
And a soothing sensation,
Will slowly begin to lift.
Within that very minute,
You will be cheerful again,
Its power is almost infinite.
Once you are the power's witness,
Spread the word to other people,
So Blissey will share her great kindess.

Love
Love, it's a strange thing to most of us
It can happen anywhere, like the beach or a bus
An array of feelings is how we describe it
Happiness, Jealousy, Torment, and Wit
Love is the feeling inside of you
A warm, fuzzy feeling that turns you blue
Sometimes it takes time for it to spark
It could also be lust and full of dark
Love is something that can cause hatred
A dark feeling no one wants to be fed
Sometimes love can cause this tragedy
No need to fret, it's just your honesty
There's a popular saying, "Love at first sight"
I don't like this, it gives me a fright
Love should be justified, something two people can find
That would make the feeling a whole lot better, one of a kind.
This is love.

Color buried away and the scenery blurred white,
The world is a blank canvas,
Light sparkles and dances off our unfinished artwork,
Pleading for us to bring color back to its surface,
I can barely see our world in this resolution,
And the contrast of your color in this grayscale,
I cannot take my eyes off of you,
Look at this frozen canvas,
How would you paint it?
Steal the color from my soul,
And cover the ground in life,
Warmth drains from our bones,
And the time has flown by,
Draw a fire for me,
Draw a source of warmth,
Hold me close in this dimly lit room,
But don't keep me from this world of art for long,
Our canvas only stays for this season,
Our canvas will leave us before long,
Pour the color from my soul,
Cover our canvas with our love,
Paint a picture for our eyes alone,
Paint a picture for our love alone.

Lanturn's Pond
Written by: TJgamer
Whenever you fall asleep, or stare into space in thought,
You may imagine a new place, of a tranquil spot.
I think I may know a certain place that will satisfy you,
Just listen to me, and remember well what I'm about to construe.
When the sun goes down, and the sky is clear and black,
Walk to the edge of the wood, and don't turn back.
Trod deep into the wood, about a quarter of a mile,
Then stand still, and imagine the place for a while.
Try to hear the soft lapping of a soothing liquid,
Try to visualize the crystal clear fluid.
Now expand your mind to a greater extent,
Continue to do so till a hundred percent.
Then, you'll see there is earth surrounding the drink,
Keep it strong in your mind, and do not blink.
Now think of bioluminescent plants and fungi,
But remember, they are best seen when it's a dark sky.
The water helps keep the plants smooth and mellow,
And gives them energy to show colors, green and yellow.
It is such a beautiful pond, that almost seems to glow.
The reason is 'cause there is a Pokémon far below.
This Pokémon keeps the pond bright in the night,
It has power to keep the grove filled with light.
You may even see it submerge to the surface,
And see the Lanturn and its mighty purpose.
If it trusts the visitor, it will sing a song,
And it's Chinchou children shall rise and sing along.
Once you have all of this deep inside your mind,
Open your eyes, and the pond is what you'll find.
Now you won't need equipment, nor a reservation,
Just go there alone, and use your imagination.

Top dog or Underdog?
Where the Grass is greener
There's supposed to be Happy people.
But What about sad people?
Where the Grass is greener.
Oh The Shame.
The Agony!

The World is Perfect
Unlike Ours
Where we're Alone.
All Alone.
The Void we must fill.

To Fill our Deep Hole.
Perhaps a shovel?
Where the Grass is Always Greener
We should use the dirt
To fill the hole.

This coat I wear is torn and tattered,
Worn down, beaten, and battered.
I've had it for years, since I was young,
When I was simple, heedless, and unstrung.
Despite its age, I still can wear
This coat, though it's threadbare.
It must be quite a sight, me in this coat,
You'd think, of others, I would take note.
I will still walk with it on my back,
For without it my glow would lack.
I sometimes get joked about and teased,
But with myself I am pleased.
This coat is special, made with love,
And this I am proud of.
It makes me happy just to wear it,
Through it is torn and nearly split.

The Joy Particle
Having theorized its existence all her life
today the scientist discovered the joy particle
Pausing to clear her dry throat as she has done
since childhood, she elucidates its history,
the possibilities
It will regulate the blood and decrease appetite,
making ambrosia of swill and oil. Surely
a wide market will open its gates
It has guided fish to land and apes to art
in the fingertips of their struggling, primitive hands
It jumps the skin of lovers on sails of their whispers,
keeps the stars spinning in their eyes
and the moon from sinking in their hearts
It cuts through time to shatter thorns and castles,
and birth the gold and bronze fawns inside
Quicker than electrons buzzing in the brain,
dreams countless as the shapes of clouds,
the seeds of natural miracles
Can you show it to us, they ask
with hands, fists and palms, grasping
No, she replies. I have not seen it
Long hair on the playground, red ball
against the blacktop, invisible to science
She'd heard it in the rain
