I don't think they'll Change, but do like with Magnemite and add some into secondary typing.

So far they have changed an age old Canon by giving Vaporeon a new ability, though it hasn't been confirmed that it is a permanent edited addition and holds very little to this discussion, this still leaves a very small window of possibility. Some Singular Type Pokemon can possibly get a type added to them. Though seeing as we cannot back trade, there isn't really anything that suggests that they can't change a type and keep it this way forever on.

The following list is my Personal PoV
~Voltorb and Electrode can prolly join Magnemite into the Electric/Steel group. Sure it doesn't look like a steel type, but it is said that its body is made of metal. Its also used as a Battery in Pokemon Gold/Silver and the remakes.
~Kangaskhan Normal/Ground or Normal/Rock. It really does look like it would fit with ground more and hey, Nintendo seems to like tagging things onto Normal types.
~Volbeat and Illumise Bug/Electric. really I always thought they WERE Gug/Electric until I caught on in Platinum. They definitely look like electric types to me.
~Trapinch Ground/Bug. Its an Ant. How is it NOT a Bug Pokemon?!
~Chimecho and Chingling. Normal/Psychic. They look more Normal than Pyschic type.
~Glalie. Ice/Dark. Like with the Bug couple, I didn't know it wasn't a Dark type until I caught one myself.

ooh about vaporeons ability change it still has water absorb its only when you meet it in the dream world it has hydration. according to serebii pokemon in the dream world will have different abilities

I know it doesn't replace. What I meant was, it isn't confirmed if Vaporeon has a new ability permanently. Like having both Water Absorb AND Hydration. We don't know if they changed the old Canon by improving them with new abilities.

Pikachu w/Levitate FTW!

i was just pointing it out to make sure no harm done :)

i think giving mono-ability pokemon secondary abilities would be interesting..

That would be intresting...a Levitating Pikachu with Surf would be deadlier though ...that would be dangerous with the Light ball...

Please, who are you kidding..?! A Pikachu?! Seriously? Pikachu was, and will always remain a pokemon that real pokemon use to toss around when they get bored!

But that adding secondary ability isn't a bad idea, and probably will hapen for some pokemon...

Beldum floats and can be hit by Ground moves. Same as Magnemite. ^w^;; Most birds are shown as standing.

Doduo and Dodrio also stand on the ground.

Levitate Pikachu would be awesome XD.

But we need to get back on to Type Changes. XD

yes but in the case of birds most of them could just take off if an earthquake hit

and magnemite, beldum etc are just exceptions pikachu will not EVER get levitate it just wont

I don't think they would change any types. They are good as they are. But, thats just me.

That actually sounds like something they might do, since they already did that to a whole ton of Pokemon between generations 3 and 4.

Except that Luxray should be Electric/Dark.

What? Why? There is nothing that makes him a dark type. He only learns three Dark type moves, and those are Bite, Crunch, and Theif. And tons of non-dark types (Kecleon, Feraligator, Nidoking/Nidoqueen, and so on) learn those moves.

The only thing "dark" abotu Luxray and Luxio is the color of the fur. And if that determined type, Lucario would be a Water type, Paris/Parasect would be Fire types, Drowse/Hypno would be Electric types, and so much more.

Umm...

Not to be rude, but that is NEVER going to happen. They wouldn't just change something. If Gyrados is Water-Flying, even if they later decide that it doesn't seem right, they aren't going to just change something. Also, just because the Porygon family learns alot of Psychic-Electric type moves doesn't mean they should change it. When you think about it, Porygon/2/Z are Polygons. Polygons are shapes, and shapes are normal. That's why the Porygon family is Normal-Type. I personally do not think they should change the types.

Haha I knew this thread was familiar. There's a thread in Pokemon General which is pretty much the same as this one. Sooo...

Locked.
