[Released] Pokémon Blooming Beast - Chapters 1-3

Pokémon Blooming Beast chapter 3

Chapter 3 is finally here! This massive update doubles the size of the game, adding new areas to explore, new characters to interact with, and new fakemon to discover. This brings the game up to gym 6, with an estimated 10 hours of playtime, excluding optional content (which there is a lot of!).

As the penultimate chapter of a whodunnit plot, the point where chapter 3 leaves off was specifically chosen to give players as much content as possible to think over without altogether giving the mystery away, so I truly believe that now is the absolute best time to start playing!

well, i downloaded this game yesterday based on how fun it looked while watching a poketuber play it (Pokehax) and in the same day completed all 3 parts.

my feedback, overall it is a very fun game (I like to fashion myself as a dragon master trainer) but in this instance I chose beldum to see how it plays out. My whole game log in and of itself I believe is 10 hours (a few attempts on certain leaders while trying different strategies without rotating out my starting 6 mons.

my team:
beldum starter now metagross
female combee now vespiquen
tympole now seismetoad
misdreavus now mismagius
flabebe now its mid stage (I dont remember its name)
sprigatito now meowscrada.

I love how your "rival" is a gym leader that is looking for respect from his colleagues it is a very nice change of pace from the usual.

So i tried playimg on joiplay. It starts out just fine but as soon as i get into a wild pokemon battle the screen freezes but the music still plays

You're the third person who's reported this bug with JoiPlay. Unfortunately, I don't have a way to run JoiPlay myself, so the only advice I can really recommend is to uninstall and then reinstall it, along with the RPG Maker XP package(s). You can also try joining out discord to get help from other users who have more experience with it than I do. I know that there are some users who have been able to run the game with JoiPlay without a problem, as well as two people who have had the same problem that you've had where the game freezes when an encounter starts. I'm not sure if either of those two have figured out a solution, though.

v0.3.1 patch

Just a minor update to put some extra polish on some things that were missed in the rush to release chapter 3:
  • Adjusted early route encounters; notably, this adds the Sizzlipede line to the game's dex
  • Added conversation dialogue for Randall
  • Berries planted by the player now grow properly
  • Adjusted prices and payouts of festival coins in Mirable City to be more player-friendly
  • Lowered starter evolution levels from 46 to 45
  • Aromori can actually learn its signature move now
  • Adjusted a bunch of Pokémon learnsets; among other changes, stone evolutions learn moves gradually like their pre-evolved forms now
  • Tweaked Amy, Julia, Aster, and Randall's teams
  • The Waterfall HM NPC is now more obvious
  • The Pokédex now displays types for Pokémon that have only been seen. The Pokédex's "search by type" feature will also include Pokémon that have been seen but not caught
  • Made a bunch of ribbons obtainable
  • Fixed Pokédex rewards
  • Changed TM74 from Gyro Ball to Iron Head
  • Fixed a bug where the player could leave the first Watch cutscene and trigger it again, potentially deleting the player's Pokémon
  • Fixed a bug with Kamulus using Weather Ball
  • Redirection abilities no longer affect allies
  • The second Ditto trade no longer crashes the game
  • Removed playtesterdata.txt and functionality ingame
  • Added Gym Leader Application Form.pdf
  • Adjusted some dialogue
  • Added a bunch of flavor text
  • Minor sprite updates
  • Other minor changes

v0.3.2 patch

A quick, minor patch with some bug fixes:
  • Fixed a bug that in semi-rare cases would crash the game when talking to Amy
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Magmar, Electabuzz, and Tinkatuff from evolving into their final forms
  • Adjusted berry growing times and removed the replant system; ripened berries now stay ripe indefinitely
  • The Exp. All no longer deregisters itself when used
  • Fixed the version updater to prevent softlocking in Poppi Town
  • Boosted the base friendship of certain baby Pokémon with friendship-based evolutions
  • Minor dialogue tweaks and typo fixes

i just started playing the game and i really like the atmosphere which is a huge reason why i often can lose interest in a game, also wanna thankyou for giving a cute starter option with togepi normally its always the same old ugly ones

Pokémon Blooming Beast v0.3.3 patch

Wanted to have this out a lot earlier, but it's here now. This isn't chapter 4, but it's still a pretty large patch, focusing on replayability. The game now has six difficulty settings, as well as New Game Plus, a brand-new feature that lets you restart the game with any six Pokémon you want. You can replay casually with a team of favorites that normally wouldn't be available until later on, or carefully craft teams specifically designed to take on the hardest challenges the game has to offer.
  • Added five new difficulty settings (six total)
  • Added New Game Plus
  • Added an autolevel function to reduce grinding
  • Added a moderately large sidequest around Mirable City
  • Added a custom title theme song
  • Left some PBS files for player reference
  • Restructured the early game a bit
  • Added new item, the Exotic Orb; Pokémon will evolve into their regional variant evolutions if they have one (ie, Alolan Marowak or Hisuan Decidueye) while holding the orb. Designed as an alternative to Hallio's Crown before the location can normally be reached.
  • Added the ability to ask characters about the Elite Four
  • Added a second solution to the final Caronation Gym puzzle.
  • Added portraits for Sophia
  • Added a new point on the town map
  • The TM on Route 21 is no longer a duplicate
  • Added a hall of fame screen after beating Chapter 3
  • Added an instant text speed option for repeat playthroughs
  • Adjusted a lot of movesets
  • Fixed some typos and bugs
  • Probably some other stuff I'm forgetting

The difficulty settings are:
  • Easy, which is about on-par with official mainline games
  • Normal, the default difficulty
  • Hard, which gives bosses some extra edge
  • Unfair, which is intended for NG+ and gives all trainers more optimized items and stats
  • Extreme, also intended for NG+, further optimizing opponents' teams and restricting the player's EV gain
  • Impossible, which cannot be beaten without NG+ (though I'd love to be proven wrong!
While the latter three difficulties are designed with New Game Plus in mind, there is no restriction on choosing difficulties; you can absolutely choose any of them for your first playthrough if you feel up to the task!
