Depends on the game.
Red: Five. I'm doing a themed team in which I only work with one Pokemon, the rest being HM slaves and back ups to get me out of trainer battles (in case my one faints).
Silver: One. I was planning on doing a themed game there too, but it never launched.
Crystal: Put it this way. All of my boxes are filled, and there's four Pokemon on my team currently.
Ruby: Only twelve. Yet another themed game.
Sapphire: Well over 100. I'm not entirely sure how many.
Fire Red: Well over 100. Never bothered to count.
Leaf Green: Five. I restarted recently.
How many different species?
Again, it depends on the game.
Red: Five.
Silver: One.
Crystal: All 251.
Ruby: Eighteen. Including evolutions.
Fire Red: 117.
Leaf Green: Five.
How many babies (hatched from eggs)?
Red: None, obviously.
Silver: None.
Crystal: I can't remember, to be honest.
Ruby: Seven. Six of them traded from Sapphire and Fire Red and one of them hatched in-game.
Sapphire: Too many to count.
Fire Red: Three, if I recall correctly.
Leaf Green: None.
How many pokémon have evolved?
Red: None.
Silver: None.
Crystal: Most of them.
Ruby: Five.
Sapphire: Most of them.
Fire Red: Most of them.
Leaf Green: None, yet.
How many pokémon caught from the safari zone?
Red: None.
Silver: None, obviously.
Crystal: None, obviously.
Ruby: One. As a joke. It was a themed game based on James's team, so I went in and caught a Pikachu when I was done.
Fire Red: Seventeen.
Leaf Green: None, yet.
None on any game except the Red Gyarados in Crystal. I have bad luck at that sort of thing. I did, however, catch a shiny Spinda in my old Ruby game, but I didn't think to save it.
