    Pokémon Contests!

    [PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon Contests!

Pokémon Contests are in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald only. The Pokémon can enter in one of five categories: Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Smartness, or Toughness and compete against three others in two rounds.

    • Did you participate in contests during your play-throughs?
    • Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove?
    • Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition?
    • If so, was it fun and/or challenigng?
    • Pokéblocks: were they a good idea?

Did you participate in contests during your play-throughs?: Yeah, I have.
Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove?: I won some and lost some. I only filled out a few sections in the Gallery.
Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition?: I didn't go for good combos (most of my movesets are filled with random moves from the same category), but I went for a good condition

Pokéblocks: were they a good idea?: Yes, but the Pokeblock limitation really sucks.

•Did you participate in contests during your play-throughs? No, I took care of them post-game.
•Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove? They were okay, certainly better than D/P/Pt contests and the dreaded B/W Musical. I seem to recall filling up at least three slots at the museum. Maybe all five, I honestly don't remember since it was so long ago.
•Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition? Yep, had to breed them myself.
•If so, was it fun and/or challenigng? I guess it was like breeding for a battling team, except without level grinding. It was okay, and didn't take too long.
•Pokéblocks: were they a good idea? Yeah, and they weren't as big a pain to make as in D/P/Pt.

Did you participate in contests during your play-throughs? When I was young, yes.
Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove? Yes, better than DPPlat. I sometimes win and sometimes lose. Haven't filled most of them up though.
Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition? Just on some playthroughs. I just can't remember since it's been long.

Pokéblocks: were they a good idea? They were a better idea. Those Poffins are one of those reasons why the contests got butchered in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum are flawed sequels (No offense, 4th Generation fans.) when it comes to contests.

Did you participate in contests during your play-throughs?
Yes I did, a lot. I had one Pokémon which was absolutely amazing, Medicham. Won all my stuff for me.

Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove?
I enjoyed it very much, but sometimes it was a little frustrating. I won a lot but it really depended on the Pokémon and the opponents as well, and I never really cared for the Gallery.

Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition?
Not really, I was young so I didn't have any idea about that either, so yeah.

Pokéblocks: were they a good idea?
I don't think so, I hated them. I hated making them and using them, and the whole idea is too far fetched imo.

Did you participate in contests during your play-throughs?
    Yes, all the time

Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove?
Yes I did. Majority of the time, I would win. Yes I have in all three games because I think you would get a star on your card if you did it

Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition?
Yeah, I went on a Pokemon forum for ideas

If so, was it fun and/or challenigng?
    Easy since I had help

Usually, but I really got serious in contests after the Elite Four, just so that I can dedicate more time into it. Also, I find that breeding natures and egg moves help a lot.

Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove?
Yes, contests were really fun. I won a lot, and eventually filled up the entire gallery. It was kind of funny how the most useless moves from the beginning of the game (tackle, growl, etc.) were so good in contests.

Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition?
Of course, otherwise it would be hard to win. Getting the right combos were pretty big here, like with Rain Dance + Hydro Pump combo was used a lot for me.

If so, was it fun and/or challenging?
It was fun, and usually challenging. I noticed a trend that there would usually be a guy with the Porygon always using Recycle, a random jammer who doesn't bother getting points, and another person who is the person who actually tries getting stars, or the person who uses Explosion/Destiny Bond two turns in.

I loved it, and how they were how Feebas evolved. That was an interesting game function. They were fun to make too, even though I could never get more than about 7 perfect O's in a single blender game. Also, it was fun to actually grow berries around, though if I'd change the berry thing, I'd think it would've been more fun if they made a garden around your character's house. That way, I wouldn't forget to harvest a few.

Did you participate in contests during your play-throughs?: Of course, I love this feature!
Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove?: I did win some of them, although majority of my participation was mostly a failure. xD
    Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition?: I tried to look for cute Poke's with great movements which can possibly be add more additional points! ;;
Pokéblocks: were they a good idea?: Kind of, but I tend to forgot about them. D:

It kinda sucked really :/. I never win.

Pokéblocks: were they a good idea?
