Background Information:
Spoiler:
I began working on this project nearly two years ago as a birthday gift for one of my little brothers, as we both love the Johto Region. At nine years old, we lost him on April 10th, 2019. Only recently was I able to pick myself up and decided to continue working on this and to share it here when it is completed.
Why Electrum?:
Spoiler:
A mixture of gold and silver is called electrum! But really, I decided to make a Johto-based game from scratch because I really love the region and there is a lot of nostalgia for me there. The official games are great, but I always felt they were very short on the Johto portion of the story and really wanted to flush those out in my own way. This will be a standard Pokémon game where you catch, train and battle to defeat the eight Gym Leaders of Johto and their Elite Four to become champion! However, forget the story line that you know and be open to what will happen on this adventure!
Plot:
As a young trainer from New Bark Town, you are about to set out on your very first journey through the Johto Region! However, there is uncertainty in the future of this historic place. Not only is a criminal syndicate known as Team Rocket running about causing chaos, there are also extreme tensions with the neighboring Kanto Region over Johto's desire to be seen as independent. Win your way to the top and become the very first Champion of the newly formed Johto League!
Project Progress Status:
Game is complete!
Sequel is available here: Pokemon Electrum 2

Frequent Questions, Answered:
Spoiler:
-No access to Kanto, but you will have some access to another region.
-Not all designs from Spaceworld Demo are used, based on personal preference on design.
-Some unreleased Pokemon that were replaced with another (Blossomole vs. Bayleef) were added into existing evolutionary families. Blossomole for example, is now Sunkern's evolution with Sunflora to follow.
-No Z-moves or Mega Evolution.
-Some elements of the original story are present, but heavily expanded upon. For example, there is a major reason why Amphy is so sick.
-Fairy-type is not yet classified in Johto.
-There are no following Pokémon, due to the fact that there exist no over world sprites for the Spaceworld ones
-Talk to everyone! Many of the new or changed evolution methods are mentioned by NPCs.
-At the time of writing this, there are no time-sensitive events.
-Pokégear is in the game but only special numbers are registered. At this time there are no rematches, due to the size of the region and sufficient trainers to battle for experience.
-Pokémon that evolve by trade will for the most part use the Heart Stone.
-Test plays are being conducted as sections are completed, a final test will be run before release by pre-selected testers.
-I appreciate offers for help, but understand that given the circumstances this is a project I want to complete on my own.

Bugs/Glitches:
Spoiler:
Weird things:
-Error inside Ruins of Alph. A glitch is causing the system to try and define each Unown form as a species. Just use a repel in here to avoid that. OR save the game, move a few steps, save the game. Repeat until you're outside.
-If you enter Route 33 and use fly, the sandstorm will keep going. To eliminate this, you need to step on the middle stairs near Azalea Town side or on the tiles near Union Cave's exit to end it.
I don't know how to fix these items permanently at this time.

-Special thanks to Thundaga for his Youtube tutorials on using Essentials!
-Some overworld sprites I made simply by recoloring an existing one or swapping faces, etc. Petrel's VS. screen was made by putting several different trainers together, including the female guitarist from B2/W2.
-Paint & Irfanview were used for anything graphic-related on my end, especially the Sinnoh-style badge case.
