Why does my screen freeze right as I defeat that lady as Brendan?

This glitch happens when you start Part A with a version lower than 2.3.0 (which means you don't have the tool Trainer Omni, causing the freeze at that point) and then continue Part B with version 2.3.0 or higher. Make sure the versions of both Part A and Part B match. I uploaded a version of 2.3.1 that handle this "glitch" but I can't say for sure if everything else will work as expected. You can find this version here.

Spoiler: Charmander can be found

relatively early in the game. After the 2nd badge, you'll have to travel through a dungeon called Mt. Lonelytop. Before fully traversing it, the story will send you to one of its side areas that eventually lead to a puzzle and then a volcanic-like area. This area has Fire Pokemon, including Charmander and Torchic among its 4-6% encounters.

Make sure to hunt for one before jumping down the ledge in the final room on the Route 3-side of the dungeon. The room has a ton of sea water for its borders, and the only way to go back through from the Route 3 side is with Surf. (From my understanding, you won't get access to that until late in Chapter 1. I'm relatively close to that point, and my team of 3 are in the mid-30s for reference.)

If you already passed this point, where you had to battle 2 trainers who asked which one was better and gave an egg, then you'll have to wait, sadly.

Check out J.D. Guy's post on Charmander! He's 100% correct. The game's moveset are generally a mix from Gen 5, 6 and beyond, though some moves are not in the game. TMs aren't available for purchase. Instead, they're found throughout the world, some of them by exploring. Mega Evolutions show up later, once you get to Elysium island in Part B.

If Shadow Ball is TM 30, I think it can also be found as a Game Corner Prize from Astrantia City's Game Corner, which can technically be obtained as soon as the city can be reached. (In practice, though...).

Hi, really enjoying the romhack so far but ive got a problem where I've just finished the pirate arena and the pirates aren't giving me my bag back. not ideal as im now soft locked essentially. Is there any fix? Is there a guy I didn't talk to to get the items back? Because noone said anything about it either.

Any assistance is appreciated :)

Hello! Can you help me out a bit, did you successfully complete the Pirate Arena? If so,

there should be a short but mandatory conversation with the arena owner at the top of the arena before you take the elevator back down to take your reward. That's when you're supposed to get your bag back. Also, you usually get your bag returned automatically any time you white-out. So here's something you can try: withdraw a weak Pokemon, deposit the rest of your team in the PC, then head into the grass and lose a wild battle. Unless something has gone seriously wrong that might reset things and return your bag.

I did successfully complete the pirate arena after completing everything as in savahn. I just attempted whiting out but my bag is still empty :/

My theory was my bag was full or something so i went back to a previous safe, emptied my in arena bag and won again but the pirates are still holding on to it.

The bag's fullness does not really affect this. But after you defeated the Pirate Arena champion, did you talk to the old lady shown in the screenshot? You must have. This event is not optional.

I did talk to the old lady and I did not use any cheat codes. If the bags fullness doesn't affect it I have no idea then. Things have run smoothly until now
