Pokémon Game Idea

I have a great idea for Nintendo that I think would make a load of money off of an already successful franchise. Pokémon is one of my favorite games. I love playing it. But as I have been playing it for the past years I have also been playing other games. I came up with an idea that my friends and I think would be amazing. The idea is simple. Translate Pokémon to a gaming system like the Xbox 360 or PS3 (but not either of them) and totally alter the play style. Obviously it is not that simple because neither of those companies owns the rights to Pokémon so they can't make it. However the Wii could be the answer, but the pure gaming that Pokémon demands cannot be handled by the Wii. IF this is possible, the ideas and potential for a game would be endless. For example, a campaign section where you could be able to customize your character and find wild Pokémon. Or maybe you could infuse the true RPG game style to make your own path to become a member of the original Team Rocket. There would also be a lot of room for an online experience. Like the idea from the game of the year this year, red dead redemption, there could be a free roam-like area. In which trainers could play with other trainers around the world and battle and trade, along with collecting Pokémon. And then there could be a segment of the online section that is like Pokémon coliseum. These are only a fraction of the idea that could brew up from this. This has to get done!!

Moving this to Spin offs since this would never be a main series title.

    All very unlikely btw.

Not really, to be honest. There have been many threads with people saying how "awesome" it would be to have Pokemon on the 360 or PS3. Many reasons were tossed against it that I don't feel the necessity to repeat, but I think the most important thing to remember is that it will never happen since Pokemon belongs to Nintendo.

this sounds like a terrible idea, no way would I buy any pokemon game with this in mind.

Pokemon has been on Nintendo handhelds and consoles for about fifteen years, so I think it would feel awkward to be playing a game that has been on one series of handhelds and consoles for so long, then play it on something different.

In my opinion, I think it's a bad idea.I would probably still play Pokemon on a different console if, and I mean if, they didn't change the things that made Pokemon popular to begin with.Like Sydian said, being owned by Nintendo, I think the chances of Pokemon being on different consoles would be very unlikely.

i thinks its a good idea but not on 360 or ps3 it will have to be on the wii :) i would be great to create a trainer of your own and it should be a never endiong rpg and also you should get to visit all the regions aswell :)

I think Nintendo has finally realized that Pokemon has a big fan base that wants to play online which I love what they did with Black/White and making me think where gonna have a epic Pokemon game built for online in the future. Im a huge MMO fan and a Pokemon MMo would be SWEET!! Jus sayin lol.

I honestly woke up half an hour ago with a similar idea in my head. My idea kinda encompassed more of a roaming environment w/o tall grass encounters, instead the wild pokes are seen roaming the environment as well, like in the anime. And instead of turn battling, you should be able to fight like an actual battle, where you have to aim and stuff. Obviously an idea like this would take a LONG time to develop, especially since users would demand all 5 continents to be present, but with technology where it is now, there isn't any legitimate reason not to make it since there would be huge demand. The Wii, while not as effective as 360/PS3, could potentially support it. Besides, I also feel like this sort of game is more suitable for a Wii-type console; child/family friendly. Hopefully this idea is already in the works, and could be finished within the decade.

I think it should stay the way it is and stay for Nintendo, pokemon is unique and should stay that way

so even with a very impressive working prototype to show them, and no plans to present the idea to anyone else, you can't pitch a Pokemon game to nintendo?

But did'nt team ninja do that with Metro id other M?

    Of course not.

Team Ninja were an established video game development company when Yoshio Sakamoto approached them to discuss creating a new Metroid game, in 2006. Nintendo doesn't care who you are unless you are part of a real, serious company.

And no, it's terrible business sense for them to licence one of their biggest franchises out to another console manufacturer.

Pokemon games are belong to Nintendo. I won't like it when they goes to PS3 and such. Its just not...fit. Besides, Pokemon Spin-Off games so far are fine to me.

I don't think they should add some more. PMD, Pokemon Rangers, and such are fine enough. They just need to improve/enhance them. If there's some more, I bet it'll be like PBR (the most boring spin-off game so far).
