[Released] Pokémon: Kanto Reloaded (Now in Open Beta)

New Version: 0.4.1
Download HERE!

As usual, the GBA music download has also been updated.

This update includes the entirety of Celadon City - Gym, Dept. Store, Game Corner, and all. It caps after the 4th Gym, before a brand-new dungeon/story section in the relocated Power Plant. You might also notice that the Bike Shop has been uprooted from Cerulean and moved to Celadon; as the Bike in my game is a gatekeeping item, a trek all the way back up to Cerulean in order to progress down Cycling Road would have made no sense. The now-empty Bike Shop building in Cerulean has been replaced with one housing a not-yet-implemented Safari Game. Ultimately, I plan on placing a few of these games around the world, with each functioning like the Bug-Catching Contest from HeartGold/SoulSilver (but focused on a different type of 'mon).

Note that despite only containing one city, this was a LARGE update due to the sheer amount of content in Celadon (not to mention a whole new Gym, which always takes a lot of work), so I fully expect some oversights. Please give me a shout here or over on the Discord if you come across any bugs!

when would the full release be out

A conservative estimate? Couple years. 😅 I believe I jumped the gun a bit releasing to the public when I did, but I really needed testers (and to everyone who's reported bugs: you have been SO helpful, thank you).

This is my passion project, so I can guarantee you I will never abandon it unless something truly catastrophic happens, but I am a one-man show and this is ultimately a hobby I need to devote my spare time to. I've also been dealing with health problems over the past year, which has slowed things down significantly. I know that's a disappointing answer in this day & age, with content creators churning out ROM hacks all the time, but I'd rather be honest. And I don't blame anyone who chooses to not put up with the slow release schedule!

I'm sorry I haven't been more active in this thread. I kind of fell off because of fatigue with playing Pokémon in general. I'd like to continue the game (or start anew if the saves are incompatible by the time I do, assuming they haven't become incompatible already). I'm still interested in videos of the series and this forumgrounds. I'm just not feelin' Pokémon gaming right now, and I don't know when I'll get back to it.
