    Can you make the pokemon center healing animation like pokemon scarlet? In Scarlet, nurse joy places all six pokeballs at once instead of putting them one by one.

    I know about the Even faster nurse joy setting, but that one removes the whole animation.

    By the way, Crunch still lowers Spdef instead of Def. I don't know if you can dynamically fix moves like that according to the Move split setting.

    Pokemon stats also don't dynamically update with EVs. I remember seeing a patch that fixes this.

    Hey, really interested in the rom hack but i cant seem to get the real time clock to work on an ez flash omega, i can patch a regular emerald which works but i cant seem to figure it out in modern Emerald.

    I had an ez flash omega until a few months ago and rtc worked as expected, and currently works on my Everdrive Mini. I don't know if the problem is on my end, but doesn't look like it.

    I released 1.5, which includes a revamp of Wonder Trade. Report any bugs here or via DM.

    • Wonder Trade has been completely revamped! Now available in every Pokémon Center Second Floor after obtaining 5 badges, and has been removed from the Battle Frontier.
    • Players playing with challenges enabled (Nuzlocke; Pokécenter; Evo Limit; One type Only; Stat equalizer; Mirror; Mirror Thief) won't be able to Wonder Trade until they finish their challenge (beating the Pkm League).
    • The game will save 2 times while doing Wonder Trades, preventing save scumming.
    • Hidden Power now includes Fairy type!
    • New option to not heal Pokémon when deposited on the PC (needs to be enabled via de challenges menu at the start of the game).
    • Not healing when deposited on the PC is enabled by default in the "Pokécenter Challenge".
    • The Pokédex now features green colors instead of red, because this is Modern Emerald! Yay?
    • Norman's Slaking doesn't have Speed Boost anymore, now has Immunity.
    • Shinies shouldn't appear in HyperTraining anymore (needs more testing).
    • Hidden Power has been fixed as it was showing incorrect typings.
    • Hasty mint now has the correct description.

    EDIT: 1.5b uploaded, fixes a bug with a message after WonderTrading. Not really important, just update if the bug bothers you.

    first I'd like to thank you for the Mod, together with some friends we are having a blast playing it as a soul link nuzlocke!
    There were some questions that we got while playing it:

    We currently play on the 1.4 version on hard with Nuzlocke, Randomizer with randomizing Starter, Wild Pokemon and Static Encounters.
    1. We only made it once to Rayquaza, but the fight was not randomized. If the Legendaries option is turned Off, does that also mean the Static Encounter Legendaries are not randomized to something else? If so, is there a way to randomize those without enabling legendaries as normal grass encounters? Or was that just an lucky/unlucky randomize situation?

    2. The EV Training Pokemon were Randomized as well, making it a pure chance encounter on what EVs you're able to train. I read through the whole thread and it seems like it's programmed as wild encounter, so I guess there won't be any way around this?

    3. Physical Water Pokemon felt quite underpowered, as they lack physical moves for most of the game. Are there any plans to later add something like Aqua Tail?

    Other than that we got a lot of fun out of it. All those QoL changes are really fantastic, thank you!

    Where can I find other starters such as bulbasaur or totodile?
    Bulbasaur can be obtained in the Safari Zone and Totodile completing the Pokédex like in vanilla emerald. Both are obtainable via Wonder Trade (if you are not using Modern Spawns, they will be available after the Pokémon League).

    1. Randomizing legendary static Pokémon was an option in the randomizer menu selection. Sadly, there's no option to change it once you start the game to prevent strange bugs.

    2. Never expected to have EV train Pokémon randomized tbh. There's nothing I can do to prevent it for now but I will have a look.

    3. I will have a look at the Water Physical moves, however, there are many other types that do not have a big assortment of moves. That's the main reason I give the option to choose between the Phy/Sp split introduced in Gen IV or not, as many moves introduced in that generation help making the split useful BUT I don't want to include all of them as I mainly want to have (mostly) Gen III hackrom.
    Is there any documentation of Pokémon available by route when the modern spawns toggled on?

    Just a quick question about shiny hunting, does this work like other pokemon games where soft reset helps you hunt. Or is it the weird emerald frame based hunting?

    I think this is a bug, but EVs do absolutely nothing. They have no effect on the pokemon's stats.

    With the 1.5 update, is there still a way to Self-trade? github documentation mentions it, but I haven't found a way as there only seems to be WonderTrade?

    True. I lost my data not so long ago and the low HP beeping is something that needs to be done on a specific file that's automatically created. Next update, whenever it is, will have it fixed.

    Haven't used an Omega DE so I can't say why it may be freezing. Works on a standard EZ Flash Omega.

    Ev's do not get instantly updated. That's how it works in Gen III.

    You swapped the spots of use and check tag for berries. 11/10 hack.
    One thing I would suggest that would probably be very easy to implement - the lady at the rest house north of mauville, maybe make it so she doesn't ask if you wanna rest again after you just rested.

    🔍WHAT IS THIS HACK? (Updated to 1.4)

    To put it simply, "Pokémon Modern Emerald" is a modernization of the original "Pokémon Emerald" game. This game offers all the QOL features and improvements that I've wanted since I got my hands on the original game in 2005. Think of this as a 2.0 update for the original game. This game is not a "difficulty hack-rom", and never will be. If you want a super difficult version of Pokémon Emerald there are already a lot of good hack-roms available. The idea behind this game is to play it instead of the original "Pokémon Emerald", especially for those who want a vanilla experience with more features: simple difficulty modes, move splits, QOL features, new Pokémon, new areas, new rematches, and a large etc.

    This hack is a "3rd generation hack", meaning that it doesn't try to mimic later generations and, although certain features and improvements from later generations are included, this hack is a 3rd generation game at its core. Don't expect all the new moves from later generations, or being able to catch 900 different Pokémon. This hack does not include the "Battle Engine Upgrade" or anything similar, but it does include certain mechanics from it (like the OPTIONAL Physical / Special split that happened in Gen. IV, or the Fairy Type).

    There's a total of 423 Pokémon, including 2 from Generation 8 and 3 from Generation 9. There are two modes that can be selected from the Challenges screen at the start of the game. If you don't touch anything, spawns will be just like the original Emerald without the version exclusives. If you enable "Modern Spawns", all 423 will be obtainable. The game also includes Day/Night spawns for both modes (although without Modern Spawns the change is minimal and it's mostly a rate change for certain species). There are also a ton of different options that can be selected at the start of the game to personalise your experience.

    There are also WONDER-TRADES, which can help you complete your national Pokédex (All Pokémon are available for Wonder-Trade except legendaries, and you are limited to 3 Wonder-Trades every day).

    The code is available on Github, and you can report bugs over there or in this thread. The game works on any good emulator (tested on: mGBA on PC / Switch) and on real hardware (tested on: EZ Flash Omega (BUT YOU HAVE TO SELECT FLASH TYPE 128KB MANUALLY), Everdrive Mini). Some emulators can cause crashes (OpenEMU, MyBoy, VBA) probably because they are too old or they are missing features other good emulators have.

    This is my "dream emerald" version, let's say, but now even better!

    🐛KNOWN BUGS

    PLEASE DON'T REPORT BUGS IF YOU ARE NOT USING MGBA EMULATOR OR REAL HARDWARE. Decompilation hack-roms may crash or have strange bugs if you are using other emulators. To report a bug first use mGBA or real hardware, then DM me or comment here.
    • When not using Modern Spawns, certain Pokémon (especially from Gen 2) will show that they are available in a location they are not. Remember that if you are not playing with Modern Spawns set to on, wild encounters are (99.9%) from Emerald.
      Help me solve this bug!
    • When using the option "Show type effectiveness", Hidden Power won't show the correct effectiveness as the game still thinks it's normal type.
