Emerald hack: Pokémon Modern Emerald (Complete, 2.3.4 Released! Following Pokémon, Modern Battle Frontier, and more!)

When trying to see if the starter is shiny or not. Do you have to go in battle like the original emerald or can you just see from the pokeball like some rom hacks?

Edit: Nvm finally got the starter shiny and yeah it's BATTLE only, no preview.

hmm i'll check it out. been using VBA since it came out, never really had any issues.
Not having issues doesn't mean everything is working as expected. Strange crashes might happen in the future, or events might glitch out.

It works just like Emerald, nothing was changed in that regard.

do 2.3.3 save files work in 2.3.4 ROMS, or no?
Yes, updates don't require new saves unless stated otherwise, which won't happen as I'm not planning on overhauling this rom hack besides bug fixing and tiny features.

Actually got a few more questions that I'm curious about actually:

- Will anymore Pokemon recieve any base stat change/type change/new ability buffs?
- Will you be adding more moves? I noticed a lack of early fairy-type moves with most coverage relegated to near end game levels
- Will there be anymore new Shiny Palettes?

I'm emulating on an Android phone through Retro arch and holding L1+ R1 to flee doesn't seem to be working. As far as I can tell retro arch is receiving the inputs just fine, it just doesn't do anything.

Has there been an update on turning off the PokeNav? hard to read through all the updates in chat and the only update i see in the changelog is

update 1.1
Match calls can be turned on / off. Go to POKéNAV --> CONDITION --> ALLOW MATCH CALL.

i don't see ALLOW MATCH CALL in that part of the menu

LOVE the hack. Definitely one of my favorites from how customizable it is.

I also really like the story changes, balance updates, ENDgame, and changes to trainer mons in Emerald Legacy. Would it be possible to get a mate of these two? Your QOL features are the best I have found out of all hacks.

Also, I saw on your git, you are creating a Emerald Modern+Plus? What's the timeline for this hack and what are you looking to add?

Also very interested to know what this might be, a sequel maybe?
I don't want to announce anything because it may never materialize, but it's not a sequel but a "remake" of this hack using the Expansion Engine. It may never happen because I'm too picky about what I want in my hack, and many of the stuff that I found for Modern Emerald doesn't work. Since I code for fun, I may not know how to fix them. Case in point, the challenges that this game has (randomizer, nuzlocke, etc.) can't be easily ported, and they're a main feature of my hack.

can Brave Bird be added as a move?
No more moves will be added.

It's now in the Options menu.

It's holding L1+R1 and then pressing A or B to flee. There are more "quick run" options in the Options menu.

- Maybe? I'm not good at competitive Pokémon anymore, and I've already done lots of buffs. As I said many pages ago, if someone wants a specific buff or something, just tell me and I will consider it.
- No, no moves will be added.
- I don't think so? Same as buffs, if anyone has a suggestion, I might consider it.
